Bischof Funeral Set For Friday
Elmhurst Police found an Arlington Heights woman shot to death Friday, Mar. 7, after they responded to a report of a shooting in a parking lot of an office building.
According to police, upon arrival of both police and paramedics, they found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds, near the woman's car. The two were later identified as Cindy L. Bischof, 43, of Arlington Heights and Michael L. Giroux, 60 of Chicago. A handgun was recovered at the scene, police said.
Both were transported to Elmhurst Memorial Hospital. Police said Giroux succumbed to an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. Bischof died later from her gunshot wounds.
Preliminary investigation by police indicates that the incident is a result of a murder/suicide initiated by Giroux. Police said Giroux had a previous relationship with Bischof that ended in early 2007.
Bischof was a Realtor for Darwin Realty and Development Corp. in Elmhurst. The company's website said she was a "leader of the industry."
A funeral service for Bischof will be held tomorrow (Friday) at 11 a.m. at St. Anne Catholic Church in Barrington. Visitation is today (Thursday) from 2 to 9 p.m. at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd. in Arlington Heights. Interment will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
She graduated from Prospect High School, and attended Indiana University and graduated from DePaul University in Chicago with a bachelor's degree in Finance.
