Man Shot Dead By Police

A Lake in the Hills man was fatally shot by Rolling Meadows Police on Saturday, Mar. 8, after police said he was intoxicated and armed with multiple knives.

According to police, at approximately 8:51 p.m., officers responded and located Michael Chybicki, 44, in the 4900 block of Weber Drive.

Police said Chybicki allegedly threatened the officers. Shortly thereafter, police responded with lethal force. Chybicki was transported to Northwest Community Hospital, where he later died from his injuries.

The Cook County State's Attorney Public Integrity Unit and Illinois State Police continue to assist with the investigation, which is routine protocol in police officer involved shootings.
