Penguins Rack Up 32 Runs In Win

It started in the rain and ended in the sun. In between, it was a 32-10 victory for the undefeated Penguins over CR Flowers in the Senior Division of Des Plaines Girls Softball.

Shannon Sullivan, the first Penguin batter, led off the game with a home run, and that set the tone for this big offensive show. Kara Barnes had 2 hits and was hit by a pitch. Jade Cerrone, the winning pitcher, had 2 hits. Nikki Lipka had 4 RBIs. Paige Chistoffe scored 4 runs, and Zoe Zunnurain blasted a double.

Sam Hozian drove in 3 runs. In her first game, Kayla Kramer had 2 hits in her first two at-bats, and she also made some great defensive plays. Kalei Roby had a hit and drove in three runs. Stephany Meza pitched and picked up the save. Nikki Vanyai and Abbi Donovan also contributed to the Penguin cause.
