Soccer Rolls Into Post-Season

The girls soccer post-season officially kicks off this afternoon (Friday) as lower seeds battle in regional play-in games. The Journal-area is full of a lot of the top talent and this could be a memorable post-season with several interesting early match-ups.

The highest local seed goes to Maine South, who is the No. 1 seed in the Streamwood sectional, just in front of Conant with the No. 2 seed. Over in the Palatine sectional Fremd is the No. 1 seed with Hersey close behind at No. 3. The Vikings and Huskies were scheduled to meet yesterday (Thursday) in the MSL championship game and that could be a preview of a big sectional game to come.

Also in that sectional comes an interesting first round contest as No. 8 St. Viator and No. 9 Prospect meet in a regional semi-final of two talented squads.
