It's a banner spring for Prospect in the sport of water polo.
Both Knight girls and boys teams have made it to the Mid Suburban League championship games this week, and are seeded high in the upcoming IHSA sectionals that start on May 5-8.
On the boys side, Prospect will meet Conant in the Cougar pool tonight (Wednesday) at 6 p.m. for the MSL title. Sean Hansen scored 4 goals for the Knights in a 6-5 win over Rolling Meadows to clinch the East Division. Mike Varga scored 3 times, John Hansen twice, and Blaine Grzegorek twice for Conant in an 11-7 West win over Schaumburg to clinch a spot opposite Prospect tonight.
For the girls, Prospect clinched the East Division last week and will be at Fremd tomorrow night (Thursday) at 6 p.m. for all the MSL honors. Prospect warmed up for that game last weekend with a 12-2 drubbing of Rolling Meadows as eight Knights scored, with Megan Dix firing in a pair of goals.
