Police Blotter

ROAD RAGE
A 40-year-old Merrillville, Ind. woman told police a 25-year-old Maywood woman punched and scratched her in the face during a road rage incident. The older woman was trying to merge with traffic on a parking deck ramp in the 9500 block of Williams Street at 3:08 p.m. Jan. 31. The younger woman allegedly would not let her merge and the women left their vehicles and confronted each other. While yelling at each other, the Maywood woman punched and scratched the Merrillville woman. The combatants were separated before officers arrived. The victim declined medical treatment and refused to press charges.
BATTERY CHARGED
Scott R. Scheuer, 25, of 10 50th Road, Wenona, Ill. and 501 W. Boys St., Streator, Ill., and Steven E. Selesky, 32, of 3508 Meckl Drive, Warren, Mich., were charged with battery at 12:38 a.m. Jan. 31. The two men allegedly punched each other during a disturbance in the parking lot of Shoeless Joe's, 10290 Higgins Rd.
BURGLARIES AND THEFTS
Someone took a wallet from a purse in an office in the 10200 block of Higgins Road. The wallet contained credit cards, a checkbook, and $80 cash. The theft occurred between 1 and 5:30 p.m. Jan. 28.
A wallet containing a driver's license, credit cards, and $50 cash was taken from an office desk in the 6100 block of River Road. The theft occurred between 11 and 11:30 a.m. Jan. 28.
Someone broke a window and took a global positioning system from a gray 2007 Volkswagen Passat in the 9500 block of Williams Street between 9 p.m. Jan. 26 and 5 p.m. Jan. 27.
VANDALISM REPORTS
Someone spray-painted graffiti on a CTA car in the 5700 block of River Road between Jan. 31 and 3:38 p.m. Feb. 1.
The exhaust system was sawed apart in a possible attempt to steal the catalytic converter on a silver 2007 Toyota Camry. The damage occurred between 5:45 and 8:30 p.m. Jan. 29 in the 5300 block of River Road.
