Police Blotter

These items are from Rosemont Police Department incident reports. The Rosemont Journal publishes this police blotter every Wednesday.

DRUG CHARGE

Ricardo Ledesma, 25, of 4013 Kolze Ave., Schiller Park, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid driver's license, and no proof of insurance at 3:38 a.m. Apr. 19. Police stopped him in the 5300 block of River Road for driving with his hazard lights flashing. During the interview, police allegedly recovered rolling papers and a metal pipe from inside his vehicle.

DUI CHARGES

Michael Garcia, 25, of 5200 Reserve Rd. #3, Chicago, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, fleeing and eluding police, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident, and speeding. At 4:20 a.m. Apr. 17, an officer saw him allegedly driving at a high rate of speed on River Road. Police tried to stop Garcia who allegedly sped up to more than 55 mph. The officer stopped chasing him as Garcia approached Dee Road, but Garcia continued, lost control, and struck a tree at Dee and Higgins roads. Police saw Garcia run from the car and took him into custody after finding him hiding in nearby bushes. He allegedly refused both field sobriety and breath tests.

BURGLARIES REPORTED

Someone took a guitar from a red 2008 Chevrolet Impala in the 9300 block of Bryn Mawr Avenue between 8:30 p.m. Apr. 16 and 1:15 p.m. Apr. 17.

Someone took $900 from the Barry Recreational Center, 7128 Barry St., between 10 p.m. Apr. 10 and 4 p.m. Apr. 13.
