East Leyden Senior Named 'Citizen of Year'

East Leyden High School senior Lauren Sullivan, is the recipient of the "West 40 School Citizen of the Year Award". Sullivan, who resides in Rosemont, has received numerous academic honors and holds leadership positions in the history and Spanish honors societies, as well as the district's freshman mentoring program. She is also captain of the girls' basketball and softball teams.

"Lauren is an exemplary scholar, citizen and athlete," said Cynthia Huck, Sullivan's counselor. "She is one of our school's brightest stars, and we appreciate her generous contributions of time and talent."
