Triton College Graduation Saturday

Triton College will celebrate its 42nd annual commencement at 3 p.m. Saturday, May 17, in the Robert M. Collins Center Gymnasium, located on the east side of Triton's main campus, 2000 Fifth Ave., River Grove.

This year's keynote speaker will be Dr. Mark David Milliron. Milliron is an award-winning author, speaker, and consultant best known for exploring leadership development, future trends, learning strategies and the human side of technology change. He works with universities, community colleges, K-12 schools, corporations, associations, and government agencies across the country and around the world. He serves as board chair for the Institute for the Study of Knowledge Management in Education and as a trustee for Western Governors University.

The Triton College Board of Trustees held an organizational meeting Apr. 15 to appoint officers for the new term, and released meeting dates for the 2009 fiscal year.

Mark Stephens of Rosemont will continue serving as chairman. Donna Peluso of Melrose Park will continue her role as vice chairwoman. Diane Viverito of Elmwood Park was appointed the new secretary of the board.

The monthly, public meetings for the upcoming fiscal year will be held July 15, 2008; Aug. 19, 2008; Sept. 23, 2008; Oct. 21, 2008; Nov. 18, 2008; Dec. 16, 2008; Jan. 27, 2009; Feb. 17, 2009; March 17, 2009; April 21, 2009; May 19, 2009; and June 16, 2009.
