Group Works To Cleanup Forest Preserve

The Burke Group (TBG) in cooperation with the Cook County Forest Preserve Dist. and with the assistance of The Care of Trees (CT) undertook a spring cleanup of a section of forest located northeast of the intersection of Higgins and River Road in Des Plaines. On Saturday morning, Apr. 19, TBG and CT embarked on a woodland restoration and clean up project. From Devon Avenue south to Higgins Road, west of the Des Plaines River the team picked up trash, remove dead fall, and cut non-native invasive brush from the woodland. Teams were established to:

Cut and drag brush

Chip the cut brush

Removal debris from the river

Spread the chips around trees and on paths

Pick up trash
