Youth Group To Spend Week In Nogales, Mexico

Michelle McDonald, a high school senior from Rosemont, and about 30 others from Des Plaines Bible Church will make the journey to Nogales, Mexico this summer.

The group will depart Chicago on June 14 and spend a week working at a seminary in Nogales.

The students will do light construction work at the seminary, work with seminary students in poor neighborhoods in Nogales. They will also host a vacation Bible school.

The school is for local kids in the area that will feature arts, crafts, sports, drama singing and Bible study.

Youth Minister Mike Merry built a relationship with the seminary at his last church in Huntington Beach, CA.

The group will also bring Rev. Ramiro Cruz, the church's Hispanic Ministries pastor on the trip.

The group going to Mexico will consist of 19 teenage students and 10 adult leaders.
