74-Year-Old Man Pushed In Road Rage Incident

A 74-year-old Roselle man told police a man pushed him to the ground during a road rage incident in Rosemont the morning of Thursday, Mar. 13.

The victim had stopped for a red light on Mannheim Road at Higgins Road at 10:59 a.m. when the driver behind him started beeping his horn. The driver of the red Jeep Cherokee got out of his car and approached the victim's vehicle.

The man spit on the victim's window and began yelling at him. When the victim got out of his car, the suspect pushed him in the chest, knocking him to the ground. The suspect got back into his Jeep, drove onto the sidewalk to pass the victim's vehicle, and fled east on Higgins. Two witnesses confirmed the victim's story for police, and paramedics took the 74-year-old to Resurrection Medical Center in Chicago for treatment of a head injury. The suspect was described as a white man in his 40s standing about 5-feet, 10-inches tall and wearing blue jeans.
