Swimming Pool Ready By End of Spring Break?
After months of no service, Supt. Kevin Anderson said Monday the school's swimming pool "hopefully" will re-open the day students come back from spring break, which begins Monday, Mar. 31. Students arrive back on Monday, Apr. 7.
Anderson said the park district and the school district will evenly share expenses.
So far, the park district has approved $25,000 worth of work, and additional costs are anticipated, Anderson said.
"We should have a good idea on the total cost by the end of the month," said Anderson.
Currently, a stainless steel tank has been installed and addi tional electrical work is needed prior to the pool opening.
Upcoming Events
Also, the May school board meeting has been changed from Monday, May 12 to Tuesday, May 20. The reason for the change is due to Board Secretary Dolores Wilson unable to make the meeting on May 12.
Also on May 20, the district will host an Appreciation Night for parents who have volun teered throughout the year.
Anderson said a dinner will occur at 5:30 p.m. followed by the Board meeting, where the parents will be recognized,
Lastly, board members ap proved the 2008-09 school year calendar, which will begin on Aug. 25, and an end on June 12, 2009, which includes five emergency days.
