Village To Move Windshear Tower

Rosemont agreed to pick up the cost of relocating a windshear tower from property west of the Rosemont Theater to a nearby spot situated on the far southern boundary of the village.

Aldridge Electric, Inc. was hired to construct and erect the new windshear tower. The purpose of the tower is to serve as a warning device for planes landing at nearby O'Hare Airport that may be susceptible to sudden high winds.

The cost to the village will total approximately $123,400. Local officials said the cost is around $70,000 less than the next lowest quote.
