4 Additions To Alumni Wall
Four Leyden High School Dist. 212 alumni have been named Alumni Wall of Fame Award recipients for the year 2006 and will be inducted in a ceremony on Monday, May 15 at West Leyden High. Honorees will engage in activities with students at West Leyden campus on May 15 and on East Leyden campus on May 16,
Now in its 19th year, the program was developed to honor distinguished alumni and to inspire Leyden students to work hard and aim high.
The honorees are:
Peter D. Chemello, D.D.S., Class of 1978-Chemello is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon who is also a clinical assistant professor at the University of Illinois College of Dentistry. He earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree from Loyola University of Chicago, as well as B.S. and Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degrees from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry.
Ruben Melesio, Class of 1955-Melesio is the president and owner of the Highway Safety Corporation. He also is president of the Hispanic American Construction Industry Assn. (HACIA) and on the board of directors of the Illinois Road Builders Assn. A member of the Leyden Old Timers Assn., Melesio is a key fundraiser for the Leyden Foundation.
Penny Wagner Feldman, Class of 1978-Feldman, who is a certified nurse midwife and an adjunct faculty member at the University of Illinois College of Nursing is the 1st Ward alderwoman for the City of Northlake. She earned a B.S. degree in nursing sciences and a Master of Science in nurse midwifery from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
