Chase Bank Eyes Park Ridge Corner

The Park Ridge Planning and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, Jan. 26, approved a site plan review for a new bank.

Chase Bank is planning to open a branch at 500 Busse Hwy., on the southwest corner of the intersection with Greenwood Ave. next to the city's public works service center. The site was previously used as a storage lot for Napleton Cadillac before the dealership closed in 2008.

"The Planning and Zoning Commission looked at the site circulation, stormwater drainage, landscaping, site layout, building design, and parking," explained Carrie Davis, community preservation and development director.

Site plan reviews do not require approval by the city council.

"They can just go forward with a building permit," Davis said.

Chase will still need to go back to the Appearance Commission, she added. "They have to go back for another review on the landscape plan."

Davis indicated the bank is scheduled to open by fall of 2010.
