Ald. Allegretti Refutes Story, Will Run Again
One of Park Ridge Mayor Dave Schmidt's musings about the future was emphatically rebuked by the subject of his thoughts.
"I never complained about being misunderstood and mistreated by citizens and I certainly never did to him (Schmidt)," said Ald. James Allegretti (4th). Allegretti was responding to an article in last week's Journal & Topics Newspapers.
In that article, Schmidt was asked about current council members and who he felt might choose not to run again in 2011. During that interview, Schmidt said, "Ald. Allegretti seems frustrated with the process. He frequently complains of being misunderstood and mistreated by citizens," Schmidt said. "He may decide not to run again."
"I never said I was frustrated with the process," Allegretti argued. "I've served the fourth ward and the city of Park Ridge faithfully and I'll continue to do so," he said.
When asked if he planned to run for the seat again in 2011, he replied, "Yes I do."
