Residents Planning To Sue City?

Gene Spanos and Tom Math, two sixth ward residents in Park Ridge, plan a meeting regarding a possible class action lawsuit by citizens of the city.

The meeting, planned for Wednesday, Dec. 16 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the South Park Field House, will discuss inverse condemnation, a situation where property owners sue the government for taking private property without paying just compensation. The speaker at the meeting will be Joe Karaganis, the lawyer that represented Elk Grove Village and Bensenville in their fights against the O'Hare Airport expansion project.

Spanos distributed a flyer listing decreasing property values, increasing real estate taxes, high noise levels, and low air quality as reasons Park Ridge residents could sue under inverse condemnation.
