Police Blotter

The following records are from the files of the Park Ridge Police Dept. The Park Ridge Journal publishes its "Police Blotter" every Wednesday:

OBSTRUCTING CHARGED

Insung Cho, 37, of the 1600 block of Wicke Avenue in Des Plaines, was charged with obstructing police, suspended registration, no proof of insurance, and failure to secure a child in a restraint system. Police stopped him the evening of May 17 and gave him the three traffic citations. Officers later realized they did not give Cho his I-bond receipt and mailed it to the address he had provided. When Cho's brother brought the I-bond paperwork back to the station, officers realized Cho had allegedly given them a fictitious name. He was picked up and charged with obstructing in the 1400 block of Miner Street in Des Plaines at 11 p.m. May 29.

BATTERY CHARGED

Megan L. O'Day, 22, of the 600 block of West Briar Street in Chicago, was charged with battery. At 9:25 p.m. May 21, she allegedly pushed a woman into a doorframe at a residence in the 700 block of North Northwest Highway and took her cellular telephone. The victim retrieved her telephone and contacted police. O'Day was taken into custody at her home at 2 p.m. May 29.

DUI CHARGED

Jackie T. Covington III, 25, of the 1900 block of East Cedarwood Circle, Park Ridge, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and no proof of insurance. Police allegedly located him sleeping in his car in the 900 block of North Delphia Avenue at 7:28 a.m. June 4.

DRIVING CHARGES

Xavier Soto, 19, of the 3700 block of North Bernard Avenue in Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license, improper lane usage, and obstructed windshield. Police pulled him over at Touhy Avenue and Wisner Lane at 1:56 a.m. June 2.

A 17-year-old Park Ridge man was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and disobeying a traffic control device. Police pulled him over at Cedar Street and Grace Avenue at 4:52 p.m. June 3.

Matthew B. Delier, 31, of the 800 block of Warwich Street in Libertyville, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, no proof of insurance, and no seatbelt. An officer stopped him at Dempster Street and Luther Avenue at 10:28 p.m. June 3.

Hugo D. Villatoro, 34, of the 5700 block of West Henderson Avenue in Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license and improper lane usage at 12:52 a.m. June 5. He was taken into custody in the 100 block of South Northwest Highway.

Eladio M. Barrios-Alvarez, 22, of the 2300 block of North Kenneth Street in Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license at 2:10 p.m. June 5. He was taken into custody after a traffic crash at Northwest Highway and Leonard Street.

Allan R. Dreuth, 65, of the 600 block of North Northwest Highway in Park Ridge was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and improper u-turn. An officer stopped him at Northwest Highway and Elm Street at 12:04 a.m. June 6.

Delia J. Garcia, 20, of the 3200 block of West George Street in Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and only one taillight. Police stopped her at Northwest Highway and Glenview Road at 1:14 a.m. June 6.

STOLEN VEHICLES

Someone took a 1998 Mitsubishi Diamante from a garage in the 1600 block of Davis Street at about noon June 1. The vehicle was recovered after a hit-and-run traffic crash in Evanston.

A bicycle was taken from a bike rack in the 400 block of Busse Highway between 3:15 and 8 p.m. May 29.

BURGLARIES AND THEFTS

Someone entered an unlocked home in the 1700 block of Church Street between 10:30 and 11:55 a.m. May 29. They took two mp3 players, a video game system, a digital camera, a purse and wallet, jewelry, cologne, a DVD, and a hard drive.

Someone took a wallet containing credit cards and $200 cash from a 2002 Toyota Avalon inside a garage in the 1100 block of Harrison Street. The burglary occurred between 7:15 p.m. June 2 and 5:25 a.m. June 3.

Someone pried open doors to enter a business in the first block of South Prospect Avenue and took $4,654 from a safe. The burglary occurred between 10:45 p.m. May 29 and 9 a.m. May 30.

A fire extinguisher and cabinet were taken from an apartment building in the first block of South Lincoln Avenue between 1 and 5 a.m. May 30.

Four pairs of sunglasses and a digital camera were taken from a 2005 Chevrolet pickup truck in the 800 block of Parkwood Avenue between 10:30 p.m. May 31 and 7:30 a.m. June 1.
