Police Blotter
The following records are from the files of the Park Ridge Police Dept. The Park Ridge Journal publishes its "Police Blotter" every Wednesday:
DRUG AND WEAPON CHARGES
Alexander F. Sandoval, 19, of the 800 block of Granville Avenue in Park Ridge was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia; and 18-year-old Park Ridge man was charged with unlawful use of a weapon and operation of a motor vehicle with an amount of alcohol in his system under zero tolerance. Police took them into custody in the 1000 block of South Vine Avenue at 8:42 p.m. Apr. 9.
DRUG CHARGES
A 15-year-old Chicago boy was charged with possession of cannabis, no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, speeding, and defective windshield. He was pulled over at Touhy and Wisner avenues at 1:07 a.m. Apr. 7.
DISORDERLY CONDUCT CHARGED
A 16-year-old Park Ridge girl was charged with disorderly conduct at 4:15 p.m. Apr. 7.
She allegedly made a threatening telephone call, police said.
ALCOHOL CHARGES
An 18-year-old Chicago woman and an 18-year-old Chicago man were charged with illegal possession of alcohol by a minor at 3:05 a.m. Apr. 4. They were taken into custody after a traffic stop for an alleged improper turn at Touhy Avenue and River Road.
DRIVING CHARGES
Khaldoun Chawich, 42, of the 4900 block of North Meade Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, improper use of left turn lane, and two counts of failure to yield right of way. He was taken into custody at 9:59 p.m. Apr. 3 after a traffic crash at Cumberland Avenue and the Kennedy Expressway.
Joseph W. Covarrubias, 27, of the 4500 block of North Marmora Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, no proof of insurance, and suspended registration. He was stopped at Cumberland and Crescent avenues at 10:03 p.m. Apr. 3.
Patrick Vann, 29, of the 1300 block of West Granville Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and speeding. An officer pulled him over in the 1900 block of South Cumberland Avenue at 12:14 a.m. Apr. 4.
Steven J. Deland, 33, of the 4800 block of North Austin Boulevard in Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and failure to signal. He was stopped in the 1000 block of Greenwood Avenue at 8:15 p.m. Apr. 4.
Victor M. Garcia, 20, of the 9200 block of North Greenwood Avenue in Des Plaines, was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license, no proof of insurance, and improper lane usage. Police took him into custody after a traffic crash on in the 200 block of South Vine Street at 8:25 a.m. Apr. 6.
Tania L. Correa-Ortiz, 22, of the 1600 block of West Morse Avenue in Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license. She was stopped at Touhy and Summit avenues at 4:05 a.m. Apr. 7.
Maribel Reyes, 26, of the 1700 block of Howard Street in Des Plaines, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and speeding. Police pulled her over at 3:48 a.m. Apr. 9 at Oakton Street and Dee Road.
Brandon T. Wilkinson, 26, of the 5500 block of West Giddings Avenue in Chicago, was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license and no proof of insurance at 10:05 a.m. Apr. 10. He was stopped at Touhy Avenue and Talcott Road.
Darius Sauciunas, 32, of the 4000 block of North Cass Avenue in Westmont, was charged with driving with a revoked driver's license, no proof of insurance, and failure to yield right of way while turning left. An officer stopped him at 6:44 p.m. Apr. 10 at Touhy Avenue and Dee Road.
Samantha F. Williams, 25, of the 2400 block of Virginia Avenue in Park Ridge, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license, violation of conditions of a suspended driver's license, and disobeying a traffic control device. She was stopped at Touhy Avenue and Riverside Drive at 9 p.m. Apr. 11. She was also served an outstanding warrant for driving with a revoked driver's license.
BURGLARIES AND THEFTS
Someone took a laptop computer from a 2008 Chrysler Sebring in the 1500 block of South Vine Avenue between 5:15 p.m. Apr. 2 and 8:50 a.m. Apr. 6.
An owner's manual and paperwork were taken from a 2006 Acura MDX in the 1500 block of South Greenwood Avenue between 10 p.m. Apr. 7 and 7:30 a.m. Apr. 8.
A yard statue of a Buddha was taken from the 800 block of Florence Avenue between 6 p.m. Apr. 2 and 9 a.m. Apr. 3.
VANDALISM REPORTS
Someone scratched the paint on the hood, roof, and truck of a 1994 Buick LeSabre in the 200 block of North Northwest Highway between 1 and 9 p.m. Apr. 4.
Someone damaged a statue of a horse in the backyard of a home in the 1300 block of West Garden Street. The damage occurred between 10 and 11 p.m. Apr. 9.
