City Council OKs $775,000 For Alley Paving

The Park Ridge City Council recently gave approval to proceed with the 2006/2007 Alley Paving program.

Public Works Director Joe Soccommano negotiated a price of $775,000 with Schroeder & Schroeder, Inc. The price is over the budget, however public works staff has worked out fund transfers to offset this amount, providing a net effect of zero on the budget.

The paving will be completed by Dec. 15, weather permitting, according to a schedule submitted by Schroeder & Schroeder.

Work has commenced on the following alleys: Crescent/Prairie, Greenwood to Chester, and Ashland/Washington, and Elm to Cherry.

Other alleys scheduled for paving this year are: Washington/Vine, from Albion to Gillick; Crescent/Vine, from Albion to Gillick; Harrison/Peale, from Arthur to Devon; and Cumberland/Clifton at Stewart.
