Swim Teams Compete

The first of two annual neighborhood swim team swim meets was held recently at Centennial Pool in Park Ridge from 9 a.m. to noon.

The Park Ridge Park District sponsors the program. Teams from Oakton, Hinkley, and Centennial pool compete. Between the three pools 127 youths participate.

The final scores from the meet were:

Centennial, first place with 260 points, Hinkley, second place with 154 points, and Oakton, third place with 111.

"Centennial won last fall ending a long dominance by Oakton," said Park District Aquatics Supervisor Scott Crowe.

The meet is split up into four different age groups, 8 years and under, 9 - 10, 11 - 12, and 13 and over.

There are two meets each summer. The second meet of this year will be held on Saturday, Aug. 9.
