Assistant Principal At Wheeling To Resign
Associate Principal of Wheeling High School Kelvin Lane began an unpaid leave of absence last Friday and will resign at the end of the school year.
Township High School School District 214 officials said Lane left for personal reasons.
His resignation and leave of absence was approved by the Dist. 214 school board on Thursday, Feb 8.
Lane, 49, began his teaching career a Cooper Middle School in Buffalo Grove, where he was the first black teacher ever hired at the school.
He then became the assistant dean at Prospect High School, followed by the dean of students at Wheeling. He has been the associate principal there since 1999.
