    Vehicle Sticker Fee Up As City Seeks Revenue

    Prospect Heights aldermen unanimously approved an increase in vehicle sticker prices Monday as the city continues to seek a steady revenue stream.

    4 'Shutout' Of PH Mayor's Breakfast

    Prospect Heights held its annual Mayor's Breakfast last Saturday and named former Ald. Darlene Ahlstedt "Citizen of the Year", but at least one resident wasn't happy with the way it was run.

    Rep. Kirk Joins Fight Against Online Predators

    U.S. Rep. Mark Kirk (10th) Monday was joined by Mt. Prospect Mayor Irvana Wilks, Mt.     Suspended Firefighter Now Fired By Board

    Prospect Hts. Fire Captain Paul Elsner has been officially terminated by the Board of Commissioners of the Prospect Hts. Fire Protection District for allegedly making false statements on his application for employment with the fire district.

    Minister Accused Of Solicitation

    A Prospect Heights minister was charged with one count of indecent solicitation of a child, after Chicago police and members of the Illinois Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrested the preacher on Tuesday, Apr. 22 in Chicago.

    Shake, rattle and roll. That's what some people in the area were experiencing last week when a 5.2 magnitude earthquake that occurred near the Indiana/Illinois border woke people up from their sleep at around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, Apr. 18.

    Hersey Guitar Program To Play Out Rest of Year

    A Fighting Chance

    Gang activity has declined dramatically in the Prospect Hts. community since 1990, according to police. One reason for the decline is due to the efforts of Prospect Hts. and Wheeling police joining forces with volunteers in implementing programs designed to reach out to children to deter them from taking part in gang activity and breaking the law.

    Couple Told They Can No Longer Feed Local Birds

    A Prospect Hts. couple was told earlier this month by a Cook County judge they are no longer allowed to feed their birds after their neighbor complained that feeding the birds is a health hazard.
