Constance Lee Alty, of Elk Grove Village

Constance Lee Alty (nee Stewart) was born Dec. 9, 1924 and died Jan. 5, 2012. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Alty; mother of Robert R., Michael A., and Taylor M. Sister of Joe (Joy) Stewart and the late Elizabeth Moss. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Jan. 11 at noon at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Interment in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.

Fred C. Antonsen, of Palatine

A private funeral service was held for Fred C. Antonsen. Interment was private. He was born on Jan. 1, 1924 in Chicago. He passed away Jan. 3. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sheila Antonsen. He is survived by his children, Cindy (Stephen Clingerman) Antonsen and Eric Antonsen. Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home made funeral arrangements.

Jean M. Curtin, of Arlington Hts.

A memorial mass for Jean M. Curtin, 86, of Arlington Hts. was celebrated Jan. 6 in St. Alphonsus Church, Prospect Hts. Interment was private. A native of Chicago, she died Dec. 29 in Arlington Hts. Widow of the late James P. Curtin, she is survived by children Dennis, Christopher (Marshelle), Michael (Linda), Sheila, Sharon (Carl) Bernert, Laura (Kevin) Reilly, Patrick (Janine), and Dianne (Mark) Orlik; 21 grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren.

Margaret L. Hansen (Peg Klipstein), of Des Plaines

A memorial service for Margaret L. Hansen, 67, of Des Plaines, will be held at the Mt. Prospect Park District's Friendship Park Conservatory, 395 Algonquin Rd., in Des Plaines, IL, on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012 from 1 to 2 p.m. She is survived by sons Gordon Hansen (Dawn) and Eric Hansen, siblings the late Dolores Helfort (Gene) and the late Charles Klipstein, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

Lynn C. Head, of Arlington Hts.

A funeral service for Lynn C. Head was held on Thursday, Jan. 5 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. She was born July 19, 1936 in Detroit. She passed away on Sunday, Jan. 1 in Arlington Hts. She is survived by her husband, James Head; her children, Martha (Daniel) Olsen, Kate Head, Greg (Felicia) Head, and Jim (Courtney) Head.

Marian S. Hempel, Palatine nurse

A funeral service for Marian S. Hempel, 87, of Palatine, was held in Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine, on Jan. 5. Interment followed in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Hts. A native of Benld, IL, she died Jan. 1 in Hoffman Estates. A graduate of Evangelical Deaconess Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis, she worked as a hospital nurse, industrial nurse, and until her retirement, as a school nurse in Community School District 15 in Palatine. Surviving are her husband, Rudolf M. Hempel; children Mary (Alan) Thiele, Barbara Greene, and David (Laura) Hempel; and grandchildren Jonathan, Lauren and Eric Thiele, and Katherine, Andrew, William, and Jennifer Hempel.

Ruth L. Madoch, formerly of Des Plaines

Ruth L. Madoch, 89, (nee Wessel) formerly of Des Plaines was born on June 17, 1922 in Hammond, IN, and died in Wheaton on Dec. 25, 2011. She loved golf and bowling and was a member of the Harmonaires. Her last residence was in Glen Ellyn. Services were Friday, Jan. 6, at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Entombment was in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Hts. Mrs. Madoch was the wife of the late Allan J. Madoch; mother of Dr. Terry (Jeanne) Madoch and Craig (Pitsa) Madoch; grandmother of five; great-grandmother of two.

JoAnn M. Miller, of Palatine

A funeral service for JoAnn M. Miller (nee Frere), 77, took place on Friday, Jan. 6 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Palatine. She was born on Feb. 23, 1934, in Kane, PA; she passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 3 in Arlington Hts. She was survived by her husband John L. Miller and her children Linda Lawrence and Jody Miller.

Beverly Leah Moss, of Palatine

A funeral service for Beverly Leah (nee Bolin) Moss, 88, took place on Tuesday, Jan. 3 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Arlington Hts. with Bishop David Wright presiding. She was born on Nov. 12, 1923, in Barrington; she passed away on Friday, Dec. 30, in Long Grove. She was preceded in death by her husband Warren Wayne Moss. She was survived by her children Sharon (Richard Charles) Holloman, Dianne (Dr. Gary) Matravers, David Moss, Doreen (Owen) West, and Steven (Karen) Moss. Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Palatine made funeral arrangements.

Helga Mularczyk, born in Germany

Helga Mularczyk (nee Herrmann), of Niles, recently died. She was born in Germany on Apr. 10, 1935. Beloved wife of Joseph, mother of Mark (Donna) and Manfred (Dawn), Mrs. Mularczyk was also a grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many. Visitation took place Jan. 2 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Funeral services were held Jan. 3. Interment was private.

Thomas Muldoon, of Rolling Meadows

A funeral service for Thomas J. Muldoon of Rolling Meadows, 79, will be held today (Wednesday) 9:30 a.m. at St. Colette Church in Rolling Meadows. Interment will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Hts. He was born on June 5, 1932 in Chicago. He passed away Jan. 7 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Muldoon was a veteran of the Korean Conflict serving in the navy. He was a member of Sheet metal Workers Union 73. He is survived by his children, Martha Guerrero, Noreen (John) Hoffman, Shelia, Tim (Claudia), Kathleen (Edward) Meeks and Robert (Jennifer); sister, Patricia J.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; and brother, Robert J.

Lorraine A. Orton, of Elk Grove Village

Lorraine A. Orton (nee Krillic), 86, formerly of Chicago, died Jan. 6 at Manor Care Nursing Center. Prayers will be said at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village, proceeding to St. Julian Eymard Catholic Church for Mass at 11 a.m. Mrs. Orton was the wife of the late Thomas D.; aunt of Veronica (Walter) Michna, Art and Jim Mazzocco, Beth (John) Hauser, Mary (Mark) Cunningham and Bart and George Krillic, sister of Betty Mazzocco, the late George Krillic, Hobart Krillic and Shirley Krillic.

Charles Prazma, of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Charles S. Prazma of Elk Grove Village, 58, will be held today (Wednesday) at Parkview Community Church in Glen Ellyn. He was born on Sept. 8, 1953. He passed away Friday, Jan. 6. He is survived by his wife, Carol (nee Thelander); children, Michael and Lisa; siblings, Steven (Teresa), Kathryn (Donald) Pojman, and Nancy (James) O'Keefe; and many nieces and nephews.

George B. Scott, of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for George B. Scott, 745, took place on Tuesday, Jan. 3, at Life Community Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was at Acacia Park Cemetery. He was born on May 6, 1937, in Chicago. He passed away Thursday, Dec. 29. He was survived by his former wife Joan Scott and his children Linda Scott, George (Gina) Scott and David (Danielle) Scott. Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect made funeral arrangements.

Vernon A. Sowinski Sroka, of Arlington Hts.

A funeral service for Vernon A. Sowinski Sroka was held on Saturday, Jan. 7 at St. John United Church of Christ in Arlington Hts. She was born July 14, 1912 in Superior, WI. She passed away on Sunday, Dec. 25 in Arlington Hts. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Edwin Sowinski; her second husband, Stanley Sroka; and her son, Thomas Sowinski. She is survived by her children, Judy (Earl) Basner, Kathleen Niebuhr, Michael Sowinski, and Claudia (Bob) Conroy.

Megan Upshaw, of Arlington Hts.

A funeral service for Megan Upshaw took place on Friday, Dec. 30 at St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Hts. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. She was born on June 1, 1965 in Chicago. She passed away on Monday, Dec. 26 in Arlington Hts. She was survived by her husband, James Upshaw, and her children, Alexander Thomas Upshaw and Arieanna Marie Upshaw. Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. made funeral arrangements.
