A funeral service for Dorothy L. Brelie was held on Monday, Aug. 1 at the Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove. She was born Nov. 12, 1930 in Chicago. She passed away on Sunday, July 24 in Schaumburg. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Anderson. She is survived by her children, Linda (Daniel) Fortmann, Steve (Beth) Anderson, and Bill (Karen) Anderson. Interment was private.

Jay Barreiro

Of Elk Grove Village

A chapel funeral service for Jay Barreiro, 78, an Elk Grove Village resident for 41 years, was held Friday, July 29 in Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Hts. Rd., Elk Grove Village. A formal funeral service for Mr. Barreiro was held Saturday at Rendina Funeral Home, Gary, IN. Interment was in Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville, IN. A native of Spain, he was an Army veteran and was vice president of personnel for the former DeSoto Co. in Des Plaines. Surviving are his children, Dan (Catherine), Candi (Mike) Lawson, and Babbi; and grandchildren Tyler Lawson and Giovanna Barreiro.

Robert Boldt

Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Robert Boldt of Elk Grove Village, 68, was held Friday, July 29 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. He was born Feb. 26, 1943. He passed away July 25. He is survived by his wife, Janice; and children, Janna Haycock, and Robert Boldt.

Gerald "Jerry" Braun

Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral service for Gerald "Jerry" Braun, 83, of Elk Grove Village, was held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect. He was born in Greenwood, WI, and lived in Elk Grove for 27 years. He is survived by Carmen, his wife of 26 years, children Amanda (Scott) Henry, Summer (Andrew) Cutting, Kyle, Alina Swank, many siblings, nieces, newphews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service for Dorothy L. Brelie was held on Saturday, July 30 at the Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. She was born July 22, 1930 in Chicago. She passed away on Sunday, July 24 in Arlington Hts. She is survived by her husband, Earl Brelie; her children, Scott (Ellen) Brelie, Lynn (David) Garel, and Paul (Linda) Brelie. Interment was private.

Betty M. Chmielowiec

Of Arlington Hts.

Betty M. Chmielowiec was born on Aug. 16, 1939 in Hammond, IN. She died on July 25 in Arlington Hts. She is survived by her husband, Stan; her children, Eric and Jennifer Chmielowiec; her grandchildren, Alyssa and Kyra Chmielowiec and her siblings, Beverly Geiselman, Veronica Rigg and Bob Bogdan. Funeral Mass was celebrated on Friday, July 29 at St. Edna Catholic Church, Arlington Hts.

Bernard Delaney

Of Des Plaines

A funeral service for Bernard Delaney of Des Plaines, 85, was held Wednesday, July 27 at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. He was born Mar. 5, 1926 in Springfield. He passed away Saturday, July 23 in his home. He was a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mary; and children, Bernard, Mark, Christine, Margaret, Joseph, and Patrick.

Ruth C. Henderson

Of Arlington Hts.

A funeral Mass for Ruth C. Henderson, 85, of Arlington Hts., was celebrated Wednesday, July 27 in St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Hts. Rd. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines. Arrangements are by Glueckert Funeral Home Ltd., Arlington Hts. A native of Chicago, she died July 24 in Arlington Hts. Surviving are her husband, Richard G. (Dick); children John (Mary), Mark, Steve, Dave (Shannon) Henderson, and Kate (Roman) Dziubyk; grandchildren Tom, Nick, Joe, Ben, Nathan, Hannah, Christine, Cari, Erin, Emily, Eric, Laura, and Matt; and great-grandchildren Andrew and Hayley.

Patrick H. McKeown

Of Arlington Hts.

Patrick H. McKeown was born on Mar. 10, 1940 in Chicago. He died on July 24 at Alexian Brothers Hospital in Elk Grove Village. McKeown was the owner and operator of P.H. McKeown Securities, Inc. He is survived by his wife, Joy McKeown, his children, Christopher (Kelly) McKeown, and Jacqueline (Michael) Maman; and his grandchildren, Colin and Kendall. Funeral service was Friday, July 29 at Glueckert Funeral Home, Arlington Hts.

Mary Jane Mangan

Of Arlington Hts.

Mary Jane Mangan (nee Pringle), 88, of Arlington Hts. died July 28 at Belmont Village in Buffalo Grove. She was born Dec. 30, 1922 in St. Paul, MN. Mrs. Mangan served in the Coast Guard during WWII. She was the wife of the late Truman, mother of Michael and the late Frank, sister of Greg (Betty) Pringle and the late Diane Anderson. Memorial service was Tuesday, Aug. 2 at Meadows Funeral Home, Rolling Meadows.

Estelle Materna

Formerly Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for Estelle Materna, 83, of Cedar Rapids, IA, formerly of Mt. Prospect and Schaumburg, was held at St. Raymond de Penafort in Mt. Prospect. She was born Oct. 2, 1927 in Chicago. She passed away July 25 in Mercy Care in Cedar Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husband the late Henry, parents and brothers the late Walter and Frank Starmach. She is survived by sons Mark and Matthew, daughter-in-law Hinadi and grandchildren.

Eugene F. Prosser

World War II veteran

Services were held last week for Eugene F. Prosser, a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and Niles resident. Prosser was the husband of the late June, father of Susann (Terry) Locke, Jean (Lou) Bianchi, James (Patti), Elizabeth (Richard) Federman, Gregory (Judy), Michael (Rhonda), and Steven. He was grandfather to 24 and great-grandfather of 12. Visitation took place July 26 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee, Niles. Funeral Mass was celebrated July 27 at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Entombment at All Saints Mausoleum.

Ralph Urban

Of Mt. Prospect

A private funeral service for Ralph Urban, 90, of Mt. Prospect, was held. He was born Sept. 12, 1920 in Chicago and passed away July 24 at his home. He is a WWII Army veteran and longtime Mt. Prospect resident.
