Diane Charlote Gruhle Strassburger passed away January 1, 2016. She suffered from congenital heart failure. She was born January 29, 1929. Her parents were Arthur and Melitta Gruhle of Sheboygan, Wisconsin. Diane graduated from North High School in 1946. She attended Interlocken Music Session, Michigan, for two years. Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y., was completed with a Bachelor of Music in 1950. She moved to New York City and maintained singing lessons with Miss Else Letting. A professional contract with Willard Matthews Agency was as the mother’s role in a completed tour of Humperdick’s opera “Hansel & Gretel.” Her marriage took place on September 23, 1950, with groom Willard Strassburger of Kohler, Wisconsin. An extended residence in the U.S. Army location, Pattonvile Village, Germany, which involved civil employment by the husband.
James Donald Harney, arguably the most famous florist in the Chicago area, died in his Des Plaines home on Dec. 27 at the age of 77.

Terrence Clark Sutton of Des Plaines, IL, age 49, passed away December 6, 2015 at Rainbow Hospice Ark following a long illness. He was predeceased by his parents Homer Mitten and Marguerite Belle (Mann) Sutton, Jr. of Riverdale, IL. Survivors include his wife Moira, daughters Cassandra and Tabitha, brothers Ernest (Janet) and Keith (Polly), nephews Kelly and Kerry, and special friend Kathleen Barnes.
Lois Marie Paul, 93, of Valparaiso, IN, formerly of Des Plaines, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2015. She was born October 5, 1922 in Chicago, IL, to Charles W. & Theresa (Wendorf) Wegner and graduated from Austin High School in Chicago. Lois was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Des Plaines where she lovingly applied her talents as a seamstress to create over 1,500 quilts in a 30-year span for the benefit of Lutheran World Relief. Her loving spirit will be dearly missed.
Frank Wsol Sr., 89, a past head of Teamsters Local 710, died Sunday, Dec. 6. He was the father of former Park Ridge 7th Ward Ald. Frank Wsol, Jr.
