Kathy L. Ball

Of Arlington Hts.

Kathy L. Ball was born on Oct. 12, 1945 in Chicago. She died Apr. 29 at Midwest Palliative in Skokie. Ball was an elementary school teacher. After retiring, she was a substitute teacher at Betsy Ross School in Prospect Hts. Survivors include her husband, Ronald; son Christopher T. (Dawn); daughter, Kelly M. Ball and her brother, Drew (Christine) Dahl. A prayer service was held on Friday, May 1, at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. Interment was private.

Elizabeth Ciszewski

Of Niles

Elizabeth Ciszewski, 78, of Niles, died Monday, Apr. 13 at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. She was born Aug. 28, 1930 in Chicago and was a homemaker. Memorial Mass took place at St. Juliana Church on Friday, Apr. 17. Mrs. Ciszewski is survived by her husband, Theodore Ciszewski; children, David (Marcelle) Siatta and Gail (James) Serrano; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Margo L. Corrington

Of Rolling Meadows

Margo L. Corrington, 52, of Rolling Meadows died May 2 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. Ms. Corrington was born on June 7, 1956 in Hinsdale, the daughter of Marjorie and the late Louis E. Corrington. She was a long-time resident of Clearbrook, an active member of Northwest Special Recreation and an active member of the Special Olympics. Services were held Wednesday, May 6 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Hts.

Clara E. Decker

Of Niles

Clara E. Decker, 92, of Niles, was born on Aug. 2, 1916 in Ashley Twp., Illinois, and died on Tuesday, Apr. 28, at Rainbow Hospice Ark. She was an assembler in a factory before retiring. A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 5 at St. Ann Church. Interment in St. Ann Cemetery in Nashville, Illinois. She is survived by her son, Fred Decker; grandchildren, Kimberly (James) Hellen, Tammy (Brian) Lutz, Brad Lindley; great-grandchildren Grace and Jackson Hellen, Shalyn Tyler and Hayden Lutz.

Dorothy R. Eggert

Of Des Plaines

Funeral services for Dorothy R. Eggert, 89, took place Thursday, Apr. 16 at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Born Sept. 24, 1919, in Chicago, she died Friday, Apr. 10, in Elk Grove Village. She was an active member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Des Plaines. She was the wife of the late Elmer A; mother of Michael (Sandra) and Dorel Janski; loving grandmother, great-grandmother and dear sister-in-law.

Steven H. Hansen

Former Journal Photographer

Steven H. Hansen, 45, of Round Lake, passed away Tuesday, May 5 at Condell Medical Center in Libertyville. He was born Sept. 18, 1963 in Chicago and moved to Des Plaines as a young boy. He was a 1981 graduate of Forest View High School in Arlington Hts. and attended New York Institute where he received his photography degree. He was a Journal & Topics photographer and later freelanced for other Chicago area newspapers. He pursued an acting career at Second City Improv and Wheaton Drama, Inc., which led to several small roles in movies and TV shows. He is survived by his wife of nine years, Jennifer Hansen and children, Samantha and Dean Hansen; his parents, Elaine (Larry) Delzer and his siblings, Michael (Celeste) Hansen and Dianne Hamm, Karen (James) Knaack, Herbert (Sally) Hansen, Lori Crites, Gregory Delzer, Corinne Delzer; his former wife, Laura Barrett and nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Herbert Hansen. A Memorial service was held on Monday, May 11 at Lutheran Church of Martha & Mary in Mt. Prospect.

Agnieszka Jacyniewicz

Agnieszka Jacyniewicz, 37, of Palatine, died on Wednesday, Apr. 22 in Northwest Community Hospital. She was born Jan. 9, 1972 in Poland. She was a hair stylist. She was the wife of Krzysztof Jacyniewicz; mother of Patryk; daughter of Jadwiga Lipski, sister of Marzena and Dorota; daughter-in-law of Barbara Jacyniewicz; sister-in-law of Ewa and aunt of Irena.

Raymond A. Jarzombek

Of Mt. Prospect

Raymond A. Jarzombek, 87, of Mt. Prospect, died on May 2. A funeral Mass was held Thursday, May 7 at St. Raymond de Penafort Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery. He was born on May 28, 1921 in Chicago and was a longtime active member of St. Raymond Church. Mr. Jarzombek received the Elder Honor Award from the Village of Mt. Prospect. He was a WWII Army veteran and a bridge tender for the City of Chicago for 35 years. He was the husband of the late DeLoris Jarzombek; father of Robert J. (Betty) Jarzombek, Sr.; grandfather of Robert J. (Kathleen) Jarzombek, Jr. and Jeff (Nanette) Jarzombek. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather.

Stella M. Kinowski

Of Niles

Stella M. Kinowski, 90, of Niles, died on Saturday, Apr. 11 at Ballard Nursing Home. She was born Aug. 22, 1918 in Chicago. She was a homemaker. Funeral services took place Apr. 17 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Juliana Church. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Kinowski, Sr. She is survived by her son, Harry (Arlene) Kinowski; daughter, Joanne (Jim) Orlowski; daughter, Margaret (Roger) Hays and her grandchildren.

Peter J. McEnery

Of Palatine

Funeral services for Peter J. McEnery, 64, took place Wednesday, May 6 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home in Palatine and St. Thomas of Villanova Church for a Mass. Interment was in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. Mr. McEnery was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Chicago and died Saturday, May 2. He was employed by Kemper Insurance Co. for nearly 45 years. He was the husband of Joan; father of Peter (Lisa) and Daniel McEnery; grandfather of Caitlin; brother of Joseph (Peg) McEnery.

Adele Melik

Of Arlington Hts.

Funeral services for Adele Melik, of Arlington Hts., were held May 8 at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. She was the mother of Sibel and Erol; grandmother of Lauren, Zac and Jake. She was a loving sister and friend. She died on Monday, May 4, in Arlington Hts. Born Apr. 24, 1926, she grew up in the Danube German community in Europe. She met her husband, Abdullah, in Austria where she studied. She retired in 1993 after 23 years of employment at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts.

Florence N. Michelini

Of Des Plaines

Florence N. Michelini, 79, of Des Plaines, died on Apr. 30. She was the wife of Richard B. White and was formerly married to the late Wyllys J. Michelini. She was a long-time executive secretary at Northeastern Illinois University. She is survived by her children, Gary (Cindy), Mark (Doreen) and Glen (Eve) Michelini. She was a loving grandmother, sister and aunt.  Funeral services were held Saturday, May 2 at St. Mary Church, Des Plaines. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery.

Steven Moffat

Of Wheeling

Steven Moffat, 51, of Wheeling died on Mar. 13 at a local hospital. A memorial service was held Saturday, Apr. 25 at Kolssak Funeral Home in Wheeling. Interment was in St. John's Cemetery. Mr. Moffat is survived by his brother Donald (Linda) Moffat; Gary Moffat, Scott (Sue) Moffat and many nieces and nephews.

John Morris

Of Park Ridge

John Morris, 46, of Park Ridge, died at Northwestern Hospital on Sunday, Apr. 26. He was the husband of Connie; father of Jack Daniel, Amanda, Sean and Christina and grandfather of Jake; son of Mary and the late Bob Morris; brother of Jimmy and Pat (Esma) Morris; uncle of Patrick, Ryan and Sean; nephew of Martin Gormally of Ireland and son-in-law of Jim and Carol Hilgers. Funeral services took place Friday, May 4 at St. Juliana Church. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Clarence Lawrence North

Of Park Ridge

Clarence Lawrence North, 88, of Park Ridge died on Thursday, Apr. 23 at his home. He was born on Sept. 28, 1920 in Gladstone, Michigan, and worked in production control for Brunswick Corporation before retirement. Services were held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Monday, Apr. 27 and Our Lady of Ransom Church. Burial was at Maryhill Cemetery. Mr. North is survived by his niece, Patricia Aikin; brother-in-law, Peter (Frances) Paso. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine North.

Nancy Barrett Olszewski

Of Des Plaines

Nancy Barrett Olszewski, 78, of Des Plaines, died on Tuesday, Apr. 14 in Park Ridge. She was born on Dec. 11, 1930 in Chicago. She was the wife of George R., whom she married on Aug. 22, 1953. Mrs. Olszewski is survived by her siblings, Bob Barrett and Mary (Mike) Joyce. A prayer service was held Apr. 17 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines with Mass at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Marjorie L. Parrish

Of Wheeling

A funeral service for Marjorie L. Parrish, 70, was held Wednesday, Apr. 22 at Kristan Funeral Home P.C. in Mundelein. Interment was private.  She was born July 25, 1938 in Galesburg, Illinois, and died Apr. 19 in Glenview.  Ms. Parrish is survived by her husband, Kenneth; children, Jeffrey (Sue), Kevin (Leda), Tami (Mike) Fisher and Mark (Cathy), her sisters, Arlene (Robert) Broadfoot, Clarice Johnson, 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Marianne Pennell

Of Prospect Hts.

Marianne Pennell, of Prospect Hts., died on Apr. 20. She was a long-time employee of Time Inc., and an active member of St. Alphonsus Senior Fun Club. She was the wife of the late Robert Pennell; loving sister; aunt of 17 nieces and nephews and great-aunt of many. Her funeral was Friday, Apr. 24 at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect and at St. Alphonsus Liguori Church. Interment was at St. John Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Somonauk, Illinois.

Daniel J. Piel

A prayer service for Daniel J. Piel, 58, of Palatine, was held May 6 at Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home in Palatine. Mr. Piel was born May 24, 1950 in Chicago and died on May 2 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Hts. He was the husband of Joanne; father of Michael P. (Joy) Piel and John T. Piel and loving uncle.

George S. Prelac

Of Rolling Meadows

George S. Prelac, 72, of Rolling Meadows died Apr. 14 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. He was born on Feb. 18, 1937 in Chicago. For many years, he worked as an electrician. Mr. Prelac was the husband of Rita; father of Donna Hacek; Alan (Kimberly) and Mark (Margaret) Prelac; loving grandfather and brother. Funeral service and interment were private. Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows handled arrangements.

James Richard Prybil

Of Des Plaines

James Richard "Dick" Prybil, 78, a lifelong resident of Des Plaines, died on Saturday, May 2. He was the husband of the late Cathie; father of Carol (Michael) McHale, Jay (Pat) Prybil, Mary (Robert) Pesche and Maggie (Steve) Spencer and dear friend of Dorothy Anderson. He was a loving grandfather and great-grandfather. A funeral service was held Tuesday, May 5 at G.L. Hills Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Eleanor J. Ringman

Of Arlington Hts.

Eleanor J. Ringman, 91, of Arlington Hts., formerly of Barrington Hills, died May 2 at the Lutheran Home. She was born Oct. 25, 1917 in Chicago. She worked for over 27 years for Uarco in Barrington. Mrs. Ringman was the wife of the late Ted C.; mother of Ted (Judith) Ringman; sister of the late Ethel Smith. A "celebration of life" will be held at a later date.

Elsie H. Sanaghan

Of Elk Grove Village

Funeral services for Elsie H. Sanaghan, 95, of Elk Grove Village were held on Tuesday, Apr. 28 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mrs. Sanaghan was born in Chicago. She was a longtime volunteer at Alexian Brothers Medical Center and the Elk Grove Historical Society. She died on Apr. 22 in Des Plaines. She was the wife of Edward J; mother of Kenneth E. (Mary), Michael C. (Janice), Edward J. Jr. (Nancy) Sanaghan and Mary Kathleen (the late Thomas) Doheny; grandmother of 14 and great-grandmother of 19.

Patricia A. Schumer

Patricia A. Schumer, (nee Larsen), 76, of Palatine and formerly of Arlington Hts., died Apr. 15 in her home. Born Apr. 8, 1933 in Chicago, she was the wife of Donald; mother of Raymond (Cathy) and Rita Schumer; grandmother of Megan, Lauren and Jack; sister of Mary (Chester) Nocek, Richard and the late Arthur (Mary Ann) Larsen and Eleanor Weber. Visitation was held Sunday, Apr. 19 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Funeral was Monday, Apr. 20 at the chapel and at Our Lady of the Wayside Church for Mass. Interment at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Flora A. Stewart

The funeral for Flora A. Stewart, 90, was held Friday, Apr. 17 at Lauterburg & Oehler Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. and St. James Church for Mass. Burial was in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery. She was born Apr. 14, 1919, in Detroit and died Tuesday, Apr. 14 at Northwest Community Hospital. She was the wife of the late Gordon; mother of Greg (Paula) Stewart, Michelle Stewart, Bernard (Sori) Stewart and Lisa (Dave) Wcislo; loving grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Dorothy Lee Swanson

Of Elk Grove Village

Dorothy L. Swanson, 77, of Elk Grove Village, died on Apr. 12. She was the wife of the late James R.; mother of Daniel D., Donna L. (Tim) Fuller and Denise E. (Tony) Caruso; loving grandmother, great-grandmother and sister. A funeral service was held Apr. 16 at Grove Memorial Chapel. She was buried at Skyline Memorial Park, Monee.

Joseph F. Urbanowicz

Of Arlington Hts.

Joseph Urbanowicz, of Elk Grove Village, was born Aug. 11, 1922, in Stanford, Connecticut. He died, Monday, Apr. 13, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. He worked as a carpenter in the construction business for many years and served in the Army during WWII. Survivors include his daughter, Nancy (Dean) Walker; son, Joseph F. (Chris) Urbanowicz, Jr.; grandchildren, David (Kimberly) and Daniel Walker, Nicole, Bryan and Kelly Urbanowicz. He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen. Visitation was held Thursday, Apr. 16 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Hts. Prayers were said on Friday, Apr. 17 at the funeral home to St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Hts. for Mass. Burial at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery.

Rosemary C. Warrick

Rosemary C. Warrick, 85, of Niles, died on Saturday, Apr. 18 at Lutheran General Hospital. She was born June 3, 1923 in Chicago and was a clerical office worker before retirement. Funeral services were held at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Thursday, Apr. 23 and St. Juliana Church. Burial was in All Saints Cemetery. She is survived by her children, Diane (Kenneth) Adamson, Rosemary Eillott and Robert Terrence Warrick; grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Warren Edward Ways

Of Arlington Hts.

Warren Edward Ways, 80, of Arlington Hts. died Apr. 17 in his home. Mr. Ways was born on Mar. 21, 1929 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. On Apr. 24, Mass was held at St. Cecilia Church in Mt. Prospect. Emtombment was in All Saints Mausoleum. Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect handled funeral arrangements. Mr. Ways is survived by his children, Bryant Edward Ways, Deborah Ways Marquette, Jeffrey Charles Ways, Blair Michael Ways; his 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
