Hedy P. Braun

Of Mt. Prospect

A Memorial Mass for Hedy P. Braun was celebrated Friday, Apr. 17 at St. Raymond Church in Mt. Prospect. Private interment services were held Apr. 8 at All Saints Cemetery Mausoleum. Born July 24, 1939, she passed away Tuesday, Apr. 7. She is survived by her husband, Thomas A. Braun and her children, Lynn Braun Montgomery (Mark) and Christopher Thomas Braun and Jill Braun Maher (John) and her grandchildren, Alex Montgomery and Matthew Montgomery and Ethan Thomas Maher. Her brother, Daniel Horvath, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert H. Breidinger

Formerly of Rolling Meadows

Robert H. Breidinger, 79 of Belvidere, formerly of Rolling Meadows, died Friday, Apr. 17 at Swedish American in Belvidere after a sudden illness. Born on Aug. 7, 1929 in Chicago, he married Clara Quist in 1951 and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Clara; children David (Judy) Breidinger, Kirk Breidinger, Karen (Paul) Jasczynski, Norine (Richard) Fendrych, Steven Breidinger and Roy Breidinger; seven grandchildren, sister, Lucille. He is preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Linda. Funeral services were held Saturday, Apr. 25. Burial in Belvidere Cemetery with military honors.

Wilbur Foss

'Bobo the Clown'

Wilbur O. Foss, 86, of Chicago, died Mar. 31 at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove. Born Jan. 11, 1923 in Chicago, he served in the Army and was stationed in Italy when World War II ended. He was a Master Mason and one of the founders of the Medinah Clown Unit. He was also a member of Park Ridge Masonic Lodge 988. Friend of his former wife, Bernice Foss; father of Wayne Foss. Visitation was Friday, Apr. 3. until  Masonic service, under the direction of the Park Ridge Lodge, at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment was Apr. 11 at Mt. Emblem Cemetery in Elmhurst.

George Kostrzewski

Of Des Plaines

George Kostrzewski, 81, of Des Plaines died on Apr. 16. He was born May 18, 1927 in Poland. Visitation took place Monday, Apr. 20 at Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines Chapel. Prayers were said Tuesday, Apr. 21 at Our Lady of Hope Church in Rosemont. Entombment in All Saints Mausoleum. Mr. Kostrzewski is survived by his wife, Jadwiga; children, Elizabeth (Andrew) Szewczyk, Boguslaw (Irene) Kostrzewski, Zbigniew (Izabella) Kostrzewski; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister Maria, friend Elizabeth.

Herbert E. Lorenz

Of Rolling Meadows

Herbert E. Lorenz, 75, of Rolling Meadows, died Apr. 19 at Northwest Community Hospital, Arlington Hts. Born May 4, 1933 in Chicago, he worked as a truck driver for many years. Mr. Lorenz was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Air Force. Husband of Grace; brother of Frederick (Beverly), Elaine (Bruno) Jankauskas, Elmer, Clarence (Cheryl) Lorenz. Visitation was Thursday, Apr. 23 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Funeral services were held Friday, Apr. 24, from chapel to Our Lady of the Wayside Church. Interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.

Shirley J. Lundgren

Of Wheeling

Visitation for Shirley J. Lundgren, 76, took place Tuesday, Apr. 21 at St. Peter Lutheran Church in Schaumburg. Interment in St. Peter Cemetery. Born Oct. 8, 1932, in San Francisco, Ca., she died Friday, Apr. 17. Survivors include her children, Linda (George) Fanelli, Cindy (Marty) Bemau, Terri (Dave) Romani and Mark (Misty); grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Herbert (Pat) Atwater. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald and her parents.

Robert M. Martindale

Of Mt. Prospect

Robert M. Martindale, 75, of Mt. Prospect, died Apr. 7 at home. He was born Oct. 13, 1933 in Springfield, Mass. A banking, marketing and financial consultant, he also did voice over for radio commercials. He was founder of Martindale and Associates. Father of David (Mary), J. Thomas (Connie), Michael (Cindy), Jeff and the late Gregg (Patty) Martindale. Grandfather of Laura, Karen, Mallory and Lindsey. Brother of Donald Martindale, Harriett Friedly and the late Kenneth Martindale. Funeral services were held Saturday, Apr. 11 at Trinity United Methodist Church in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was Apr. 10 at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect.

Marion J. O'Connell

Of Rolling Meadows

Marion J. O'Connell, 94, of Rolling Meadows, died Apr. 18 at The Moorings Health Care Center, Arlington Hts. Born Oct. 19, 1914 in Arlington Hts., she was a former beauty shop owner. She is survived by her daughter, Mary K. (Don) Olson; son, Michael J. (Bonnie); grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, William, parents and brother, Frank. Visitation took place Tuesday, Apr. 21 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows to St. Colette Church for Mass. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery.

Josephine M. Polites

Of Buffalo Grove

Funeral services for Josephine M. Polites, 86, formerly of Chicago, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, May 11, at Harvest Chapel in Lake Zurich. Interment will take place in Fairmont Willow Hills Cemetery, Chicago. Born Oct. 8, 1922 in Buffville, Kansas. She married James G. Polites in 1945. They were married for 40 years. She died Mar. 23 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Buffalo Grove. Mother of Conway (Patricia) and Rita (Konigsbauer) grandmother of James (Jill) and Victor (Stacey) Polites, Kimberley and Paul Konigsbauer. Loving great-grandmother.

Robert G. Price

Of Arlington Hts.

Visitation for Robert G. Price, 91, of Arlington Hts., was held Tuesday, Apr. 21, at Matz Funeral Home, Mt. Prospect. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Apr. 22, at the funeral home. Interment in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Hts. Born June 24, 1917, in Chicago, he died Apr. 18. He owned and operated Allstate Electronics in Chicago prior to retirement. Husband of Margaret; father of Wayne (Kathleen), Susan (Richard) Evans, Kathleen (James) Wolke and Nancy (Michael) LeScouarnec; grandfather and great-grandfather.

Russell J. Reynolds

Of Niles

Russell J. Reynolds, 80, of Niles died Friday, Apr. 17 at Lutheran General Hospital. Visitation took place at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Monday, Apr. 20. Services were held at Skaja and St. John Brebeuf Church, Tuesday, Apr. 21. Burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Born Apr. 13, 1929, he was an auto parts manager. He is survived by his daughter, Diane (Rudy) Reynolds; sons, John (Maralena) Reynolds and Rusty Reynolds; grandchildren, Elizabeth and Annie; sisters Mary Lou Tarvin and Ruth Reynolds.

James W. Schaefer, Jr.

Of Des Plaines

James W. Schaefer, Jr, 74, of Des Plaines, formerly of Park Ridge, died Apr. 18 at Claremont Rehab & Living Center in Buffalo Grove. Mr. Schaefer was a 30-year drummer in "The Riverboat Ramblers," a New Orleans jazz band. He was also a long-time member of the Park Ridge Lions Club and former executive director of the Park Ridge Chamber of Commerce. Father of James III, Tracey Meicher, Thomas (Mariah) and John (Jennifer); grandfather of Keith, Mason, Abigail and Samantha; former husband of Marlene. Funeral was held Thursday, Apr. 23, from Ryan-Parke Funeral Home to St. Paul of the Cross Church. Interment in Town of Maine Cemetery.

Robert R. Scott

Of Des Plaines

A memorial chapel service for Robert R. Scott, 82, will take place Wednesday, May 6 at 1 p.m. at St. Adalbert Cemetery in Niles. Cremation was at Funeral Directors Crematory in Berwyn. Mr. Scott was born on Aug. 14, 1926 in Rib Lake, Wisc. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He died on Apr. 15 at Lee Manor Nursing Home in Des Plaines. Mary (nee Forys) Scott, his wife of 61 years, and his daughter Mary (Robert) Dulaitis survive him. Kopicki's Heritage Funeral Home in Berwyn made funeral arrangements.

Vernon H. Stein

Of Rolling Meadows

Vernon H. Stein, 90, of Rolling Meadows, died Apr. 17 at Belmont Village in Buffalo Grove. Born July 5, 1918 in Davenport, Iowa, he worked as a dispatcher for the New York Central and Penn Central railroads for over 42 years. Mr. Stein was the husband of Elizabeth Mary; father of Kenneth (Marcella) and Ronald (Nancy) Stein. Grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. Visitation was held Monday, Apr. 20 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Funeral took place Tuesday, Apr. 21 from chapel to St. Colette Church for Mass. Interment was in St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.

Fran Thielen

55-year Des Plaines Resident

Fran Thielen, (nee Bauer), 90, of Des Plaines died Apr. 19 in Park Ridge. Born Mar. 22, 1919 in Chicago, she worked for City Products in Des Plaines as a bookkeeper. She retired in the 1970's. Visitation was held Friday, Apr. 24, at Oehler Funeral Home, Des Plaines Chapel. Prayers and Mass followed at St. Stephen Church, Des Plaines. Burial in All Saints Cemetery. Wife of the late Raymond; mother of Eileen (Ronald) Knecht, William Thielen; grandchildren Christine, Eric, Philip and Katherine.

Marjorie H. Williams

Of Arlington Hts.

Services for Marjorie H. Williams, 88, were held Wednesday, Apr. 15, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Arlington Hts. Born Mar. 10, 1921 in Chicago, she died Saturday, Apr. 11 at her home in Arlington Hts. She is preceded in death by her husband, DeWayne M. Williams. She is survived by her children, Patricia A. (Peter) Werner, Larry E. (Patricia) Williams, and Judith L. (John) Akins; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Helen Lou Reddie Wishon

Of Arlington Hts.

Helen Lou Reddie Wishon, 88, died peacefully on Apr. 16 in her Arlington Hts. home. Born and raised in Brazil, Ind., she worked for the general manager of Dayton Biltmore in Dayton, Ohio. After marrying Robert Wishon, she lived in many cities until they came to the Chicago area. She worked for a printing company before retiring in 1984.  She is survived by cousins Mary Ellen, Marcia Tozer and Linda Smiley and Harriet Reddie.

Services were held Wednesday, Apr. 22 at Southminster Presbyterian Church in Arlington Hts. Graveside services will be held Brazil, Ind., at a later date.

Ronald F. Wold

Formerly of Mt. Prospect

Ronald F. Wold, 76, of Plainfield, formerly of Mt. Prospect, died Wednesday, Apr. 15. He was husband of Rose Wold; father of Ronald (Kathy) Wold and Debbie (Russ) Sutcliffe; brother of Dolores (the late John) Preber and Barbara (the late Bruce) Hagele. Grandfather, brother-in-law and uncle. Visitation was held Sunday, Apr. 19 at Anderson Memorial Chapel in Romeoville. Funeral was Apr. 20 from the funeral home to St. Andrew Catholic Church for Mass.
