Raymond F. Bachal

Raymond F. Bachal, 76, of Des Plaines, died on Thursday, Feb. 19 at his home. Visitation was at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Sunday, Feb. 22, from 3 to 9 p.m. Lying in state at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday, Feb. 23 at 10 a.m. and St. John Lutheran Church on Monday, Feb. 23 at 11 a.m. Burial at St. John Lutheran Cemetery, 1100 S. Linneman Rd. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Luella Bachal and daughter, Christine. Survived by his wife, Darlene Bachal; son, Mike (Nancy) Bachal; grandchildren, Andrea, Nina and Adam; brother, William (Sue) Bachal; sister, Donna Stone and uncle to many.

Evelyn E. Beaman

50-year Des Plaines resident

Evelyn E. Beaman, 87, died Feb. 21, 2009 in Park Ridge. She was born Feb. 19, 1922 in Chicago. Funeral service was Tuesday, Feb. 24 at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 1280 Prospect Ave., Des Plaines. Burial was private. Mrs. Beaman was a secretary for Centel Telephone Company in Des Plaines for 19 years. She loved ballroom dancing, was a member of the Frisbie Senior Center and ran the Bingo program. She was the wife of the late William E. Beaman; mother of Linda (late Jose) Montemayor; Patricia A. Beaman; grandchildren, Joseph (Marci) Montemayor, Gina (John) Seaton, Anna Montemayor, William (Rebecca) Layerdure, Nicole (Kenneth) Niebuhe; great-grandchildren, Brittany, Benny, Reachel, Jessica, Joseph, Alex, Breanna, Autum and Mia.

Marie Katherine Gonzalez

Of Elk Grove Village

Marie Katherine Gonzalez, 72, died Saturday, Feb. 14 at home after a long illness. She was born Mar. 16, 1936 to the late Ruth and Joseph Dorynek. Visitation was Friday, Feb. 20, at Grove Memorial Chapel. Prayers were said Saturday, Feb. 21, at the funeral home, proceeding to Queen of the Rosary Church, for a mass. Burial will be private. For 46 years she was the wife of Davis. She was the mother of David (Judi), Donald (Barbara) and Thomas (Yvonne); sister of John and the late Patricia, grandmother of Matthew, Daniel, Kelly, Nicholas, Quinn, Timothy and Samuel; aunt of Mary Alice (Issy), Jeannine, Sally (Dave) and Brian; great-aunt of Ian and Dante.

Mary Kazmar

Of Niles

Mary Kazmar, 88, of Niles, died Tuesday, Feb. 17 in her home. She was born on Jan. 28, 1921 in Chicago. Visitation was at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Friday, Feb. 20. Services were at the funeral home and St. John Brebeuf Church on Friday, Feb. 20. Burial at Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee Ave. She is survived by her niece Mary Ellen Hanrahan; brother, Ralph Pariso; sister, Annette Brown and nieces and nephews. Kazmar was preceded in death by her parents Nunzio Parise and Christina Parise; husband, Irvin Kazmar; brother, Joseph Pariso; sister, Anne Hanrahan.

Nancy Baron Killian

Memorial services for Nancy Baron Killian, 56, will take place at 4 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 28, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., Mt. Prospect. Born Oct. 30, 1952, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, Feb. 25, at Lake Cook Health and Rehab Center, Northbrook. She was a homemaker. She was the wife of Ron Killian; former wife of Truman Baron; mother of Katie Baron and Jason Baron; grandmother of Nate and Grace; daughter of the late Lorraine and the late LeRoy Dompke; and sister of the late Art Dompke and LeRoy (Denise) Dompke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including Alicia Joyce.

A funeral service for Sargon S. Malik, 72, of Arlington Hts., took place Wednesday, Feb. 18 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Barrington. Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 17 at the funeral home. Mr. Malik was born on Sept. 19, 1936. He died on Feb. 14, 2009 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Hts. His wife Diana Lee (nee Wosch) and his children Tracy (Carlos) Pons, Scott, Craig (Jessica), and Troy (Diane) Malik survive him.

Daniel T. McGuire

Prayers for Daniel T. McGuire, 54, were said Monday, Feb. 23 at Matz Funeral Home, Mt. Prospect, proceeding to St. Stephen Church, Des Plaines, for a mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, Feb. 22, at the funeral home. Born Dec. 6, 1954, in Chicago, Mr. McGuire died Wednesday, Feb. 18 in Chicago. He was a retired electrical engineer for ComEd. He was the husband of Elizabeth J.; son of Mary Eileen and the late Thomas McGuire, brother of Mark Kate (Patrick) Cota, James McGuire, Thomas (Pat) McGuire, Anne McGuire (Charles Campbell) and Maggie (James) Didier; godfather of Sarah, David, Kristine, Thomas, Kate, Anthony, Stephanie and Charlie; uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Mary E. McTighe

Loving mother

Mary E. McTighe, 53 of Chicago died on Feb. 17. She was the wife of William M. Jr.; mother of William III, Mary Kate and Maura; daughter of John and Loretta Neenan; sister of Maureen (Kevin) Whelan, John (Kathy), Maggie (Al) Neilson and Molly (T.J.) McHugh; aunt of Danny, Kevin, Bridget, Elizabeth, Jack, Max, Tommy, John and Emily and cousin to many. Her loss will be deeply felt by Immaculate Conception Parish, Shannon Rovers Irish Pipe Band, St. Patrick's Day Parade Committee, Notre Dame High School, Regina Dominican High School and the Irish Fellowship Club. Visitation was at Cooney Funeral Home, 625 Busse Hwy., Park Ridge, on Friday, Feb. 20. Funeral service was Saturday, Feb. 21 at Immaculate Conception Church, Harlem and Talcott. Interment at All Saints Cemetery.

Leroy L. Neufeldt

Of Morton Grove

A funeral mass for Leroy Leonard Neufeldt, 87, of Morton Grove, was celebrated Feb. 13 in Our Lady of Ransom Church, Niles. Interment followed in Maryhill Cemetery. Arrangements were by Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A native of Chicago, he died Feb. 11 in Glenbrook Hospital. He was the proprietor of a screw machine shop and a military veteran. Surviving are his widow, Wanda (nee Loch); children Timothy and Nancy (John) McLinden; and grandchildren John, Katie, Rachel, and Brian McLinden.

Ingrid O'Hern

Of Elk Grove Village

Ingrid O'Hern, 54, recently died in Alexian Brothers Medical Center. She was born in Germany in 1955. Wife of 30 years to George O'Hern, sister of Renate (Winston) Davies, sister-in-law of Colleen O'Hem, daughter of Hermine Jilly, aunt of Bridget and Jessica O'Hem, Justin (Laura), and Jennifer (Jon Cornelius) Davies, many loving friends and family. Services are private. Arrangements made by Grove Memorial Chapel.

William L. Oliver

World War II veteran

William L. Oliver, 96, of Des Plaines, formerly of Rolling Meadows, died Feb. 22 at Manor Care of Arlington Hts. Born Dec. 10, 1912 in Chicago, a veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army. He worked as a printer for a check company for many years. Husband of the late Helen; father of Kay (Roy) Klein; Richard (Cheryl) and Thomas Oliver; grandfather of 6, great-grandfather of 4; brother of the late Jane Murray, Maude Wallen, Earl and Warren Oliver. Visitation will take place Feb. 28 at 9:30 a.m. until time of service 11 a.m. at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows. Interment will be in Fairview Memorial Park, Northlake.

Veronica O'Neill

Of Niles

Veronica O'Neill, 84, of Niles died Sunday, Feb. 15 at Resurrection Medical Center. She was a licensed practical nurse in a hospital. Visitation and service were in Skaja Terrace Funeral Home on Saturday, Feb. 21 and St. John Brebeuf Church. Burial took placein Maryhill Cemetery. Mrs. O'Neill is survived by her daughter, Anne (Colman) Conneely of Des Plaines; son, Brian (Linnea) O'Neill; daughter, Paula O'Neill; grandchildren, Erin, Sheila, Barry, Mikey, Kevin and Ashley. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Della Kelly and her husband, Bernard O'Neill.

Rose V. Schmidt

Of Rolling Meadows

Rose V. Schmidt, 82, of Rolling Meadows, formerly of Wheeling, died Feb. 16 at Manor Care of Rolling Meadows. She was born Oct. 22, 1922 in Chicago. She was the past president of the Wheeling VFW Post 7178 Women's Auxiliary, from 1963 to 1964. She was the wife of John P. Mother of John (Tana) Schmidt, Debbie (Mike) Nigre and the late Peter Schmidt. Grandmother of John K., Stephanie Ann Schmidt and Anthony M. Nigre. Preceded in death by a brother and five sisters. Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 19, at Meadows Funeral Home where services were held Friday, Feb. 20.

John P. Seitz

Of Mt. Prospect

A funeral service for John P. Seitz, 83, of Mt. Prospect, will be held at 10 a.m. today (Friday) at St. Emily Church. Visitation took place Thursday, Feb. 26, at Matz Funeral Home. Interment will be at All Saints Cemetery. Mr. Seitz was born Feb. 14, 1926 in Chicago. He passed away on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2009 at his home. He is survived by son John D. (Marnee) and grandchildren Michael (Allison) and Nicole. He is preceded in death by wife Dolores.

Robert Spelina

Robert Spelina, 82 of Niles, died on Feb. 14. He was the husband of Vivian; father of Karen (Jeff) Paszkiewicz-Barca, Robin (Gregory) Matiasek, Carolyn (Regan) Ahlgrim and Dan (Mary) Spelina. Papa of Eric, Jimi, Steven, Trevor, Tristan and Danny. Brother of Florence Kiesgen. Visitation was at Cooney Funeral Home, Park Ridge, Saturday, Feb. 21. Interment was private.

Larry W. Stalec

Of Elk Grove Village

A funeral mass for Larry W. Stalec, 56, took place on Wednesday, Feb. 18 at St. Matthew Church in Schaumburg. Interment will be at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. Visitation was Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mr. Stalec was born in Chicago. He died Sunday, Feb. 15, 2009, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove. Beth (nee Gurga), his wife of 32 years and his children Carrie and Paul Stalec survive him.

Edward F. Stoltz, Jr.

Of Park Ridge

A funeral service for Edward F. Stoltz, Jr., 58, of Park Ridge, was held Monday, Feb. 23, at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. Visitation took place Sunday, Feb. 22, at Nelson Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment was held privately. Ms. Stoltz passed away on Feb. 18, 2009. He is survived by wife Christine, children Debbie (James) Haidos, Carol (Vincent) LaVecchia, Edward F. III and Michael, grandchildren Kyle, Ryan, Alyssa and Haley and siblings Eileen Splitt, Barbara Gregrow and James (Donna).
