A funeral service for Dolly E. Baumgartner (nee Hatfield), 77, will take place on Friday, Jan. 30, at Matz Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Interment will be private. Visitation was Thursday, Jan. 29 at the funeral home. Mrs. Baumgartner was born on June 23, 1931 in Matewan, W. Va. She died on Jan. 27, 2009 at her home. Her husband Walter preceded her in death. Her son John (Sandra) survives her.

A funeral mass for Peter H. Bosi was celebrated Jan. 22 in St. Alphonsus Church, Prospect Hts. Burial followed in St. Joseph Cemetery. Arrangements were by Matz Funeral Home, Mt. Prospect. Surviving are his widow, Madeline O. (nee Hanks); children Harold (Nancy), Ronald (Pat), Lorene, and Philip; and grandchildren Don (Mary Pat), Jeffery, Ted, Max, and Peter.

A funeral Mass for Dorothy Jean Cosentino, 63, took place Saturday, Jan. 17 at St. Edna Catholic Church in Arlington Heights. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was Friday, Jan. 16 at Glueckert Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Mrs. Cosentino was born on Jan. 31, 1945 in Chicago. She died on Jan. 14, 2009 at Northwest Community Healthcare Center in Arlington Heights. Her husband Michael Fitzgibbons and her children Blake (fiancée Angela Kiddoo) Cosentino, Suzie Cosentino, Nina (Lorenz) Burkert, and Christian (Meral) Cosentino survive her.

A funeral service for Maria Dabek of Harwood Heights was held Jan. 21 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles and at Hyacinth Basilica with interment following at Maryhill Cemetery. Visitation was held at Skaja Terrace. Dabek was born in Romania on Feb. 25, 1918 and died at home in Harwood Heights on Friday, Jan. 16, 2009. She was 90 years old. Dabek was the proprietor of a gift shop. Dabek is survived by her daughter Teresa (Robert Kraphl) Dabek, grandchildren; Luke, Anna and Elizabeth Dabek, nieces Irena and Agata Dabek and nephews; Adam, Wojciech, Pawel and Piotr Dabek. She was preceded in death by her husband Wladyslaw, brothers Josef and Eugenlusz Tressenberg and her parents Eugenlusz and Anna Tressenberg.

His wife Angela (nee Vaccarello) and his children Gail (Timothy) Brown, Colleen (Jeff) Johnsen, and Terese (George) Carey survive him.
Frank "Xavier" Guarderas

A funeral Mass for Frank "Xavier" Guarderas, 53 will take place on Saturday, Jan. 31, at St. Mary's Church. Interment will be private. Visitation is today (Friday), Jan. 30 at Severino's River Woods Funeral Chapel in Des Plaines. Mr. Guarderas died on Jan. 24, 2009 at Hospice of the Ark. His parents Luis and Francisca survive him.
Charles John Guthrie
U.S. Navy Lieutenant in WWII
A funeral service for Charles John Guthrie, 85, of Mt. Prospect took place Thursday, Jan. 22, at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Visitation preceded and followed the service. A second service will be later in Brookfield, Wisc. Mr. Guthrie was born on Oct. 7, 1923 in Mukwonago, Wisc. He died on Jan. 14 at home. His daughter Cynthia Ann and his son Charles John Guthrie Jr. preceded him in death. His wife of 60 years, Mary Elizabeth (nee Britton) and his son-in-law Rev. Charles Hoffacker survive him.

John J. Nimrod
Former State Senator
John J. Nimrod, former Illinois state senator, solar power advocate, and leader in Assyrian refugee organizations, died Jan. 4 in Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview. He was 86 years old. A protégé of former Gov. Richard Ogilvie, he was administrative assistant to Ogilvie when the latter was Cook County Board president. He later was assistant director of Ogilvie's successful 1968 campaign for governor. He was a Republican committeeman and Niles Township supervisor, and was elected to the Illinois Senate in 1972, serving until 1982. He served the 4th district, which included Des Plaines, Park Ridge, Rosemont, and Niles. While a senator, he sponsored bills to change the state's workers compensation rules, revise the state mental health code, and encourage the use of solar power. He earned a degree in mechanical engineering from Northwestern University after serving in the U.S. Army in Europe during World War II and later in the Korean War. He was a former president of the Assyrian Universal Alliance Foundation. He is survived by his widow, Dorothy: children John, Joseph, Lizbeth, and Naomi Dickinson; six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. His funeral was private. A memorial service is being planned.
