Navy veteran of World War II
A funeral service for Richard R. Day, 79, of Rolling Meadows, will be held on a later day.
Mr. Day was born on Aug. 15, 1927 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a Navy veteran of WWII and worked as a management consultant. He was a member of the Rolling Meadows Senior Center and a volunteer and supervisor in the wood shop.
He is survived by his wife Mary, children Deborah (Brian Donovan) Day, Stephanie (Jack) Jobes, Robert T. (Rosanne) and James A (Kara Young) Day, grandchildren Michelle Rizzo, Christine G., Carl R., and Alexander Elliott Stephan Day.
In lieu of flowers, memorial to C.A.R.E. Gift Center, P.O. Box 1871, Merrifield, VA, 22116.

LARSON
of Barrington
A funeral service for Elsie M. Larson, of Barrington, will be held Thursday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
Ms. Larson was born on April, 21, 1928 in Chicago. She was an administrative assistant for Howard McKee Investments in Chicago and Arlington Heights. She died on Dec. 18, 2006 at St. Alexius Hospital in Hoffman Estates.
She is preceded in death by her husband Lawrence J., brother Norbert J. (Greta D.) Kob and sister Martha A. Bomrad.
Ms. Larson is survived by her sister Gertrude McGurl and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association or American Cancer Society.

LEWIS
of Arlington Heights
Served in WWII Auxiliary
A funeral service for Opal J. Lewis nee Crewse, 84, took place on Thursday, Dec. 21 at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows.
Mrs. Lewis was born on Oct. 11, 1922 in Des Moines, Iowa. She served in the Women's Auxiliary Corps during WWII. She lived in Mt. Prospect before moving to Arlington Heights and died on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights.
Her father Herb Crewse preceded her in death.
Her son Darwin (Mary Beth) Lewis, her grandchildren Kyle and Zachary Lewis, her mother Katie Crewse, her brother Richard (Nancy) Murphy and many friends survive her.
LOU MAYNARD
Long-time resident of
Elk Grove Village
A funeral service for Lou Maynard (nee Arenz), 82, will be held on Friday, Dec. 29, at 11 a.m., at the Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. at the chapel on Thursday, Dec. 28. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights.
Ms. Maynard was born in Rock Island, Il. She died on Tuesday, Dec. 26, at the Alexian Brothers Medical Center. She was a 46-year resident of Elk Grove Village, working as a loving home maker.
Ms. Maynard was survived by her beloved husband Earl, marriage partner of 60 years, loving daughters Lori (Dave) Perez and Lisa (Mike) Oglesby, and cherished grandchildren Joe, Keith, Amanda, and Michael.
She was preceded in death by her dear sister Betty Syrett.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are appreciated.

Funeral services for Olga Nugoli, 97, of Des Plaines took place Monday, Dec. 18 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Nugoli was born March 12, 1909. The worked in retail as a liquor proprietor. She passed away on Thursday, Dec. 12 at Ballard Nursing Home.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Peter Nugoli, her parents Antonio and Altavilla (nee Puccetti) Puccetti, and her brothers Albert Puccetti and Harry (Alice) Puccetti. She is survived by her daughter Joanne (the late Daniel) O'Donovan and her grandchildren Gail (Stephen) Vierneisel, Danette (Mat) Matyas, and Dennis (Laura) O'Donovan.

A funeral service for Theodore Skafidas, 34, was held on Friday, Dec. 22 at St. Peter Greek Orthodox Church in Glenview.
Mr. Skafidas is preceded in death by his grandparents Theodore and Katherine Karas and Apostol and Panagiota Skafidas and uncle Peter Karas.
Mr. Skafidas is survived by his parents Chris and Angela, sister Pamela (Tom) Brander, nieces and nephews Christopher, Tommy, and Katie, aunts and uncles George and Sandra Karas, Ted and Sylvia Skafidas, Angeliki and John Georgakopoulos, Marilyn Karas, Helen and Nick Chelos, Jimmy Skafidas and George Skafidas.

Irene H. Sochacki, 92, of Niles lie in state at St. Andrew Life Center. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery.
Mrs. Sochacki was born in Chicago on Sept. 30, 1914. The mother and homemaker passed away on Monday, Dec. 18 at St. Andrew Life Center.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Leo Sochacki, and her parents Bronislawa (nee Sonnenberg) and Apolonary Wisinski. She is survived by her children Robert (Paulette) Sochacki and Ann Marie (Bill) Larsen, her grandchildren Sheryl (Ralph) Puccinelli, Michael (Mary) Larsen, Rich Larsen, Terri (Mike) Sulimowski, Michael (Melissa) Sochacki, and Robert (Kare) Sochacki, and her great grandchildren Thomas Larsen, Bryan Larsen, Jessica Puccinelli, Steve Sulimowski, and Dean Sulimowski.

Funeral services for Dorothy M. Zefeldt, 83, of Palatine took place on Monday, Dec. 18 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Thomas of Villanova Church. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery.
Mrs. Zefedlt was born March 26, 1923 in Chicago. She was a personal manager for Illinois Bell. She passed away on Thursday, Dec. 14 at St. Matthew Home.
Mrs. Zefeldt is preceded in death by her parents Anna (nee Nikulski) Musielski and Richard T. Zefedlt, her husband Richard T. Zefeldt, and her daughter-in-law Barbara Zefeldt. She is survived by her children Elaine (Gerald) (Zefeldt) Prowicz, Wayne (Lydia) Zefeldt, and Karen Zefeldt, her sister Harriet (Raymond) Tantillo, her grandchildren Michael (Laura) Prowicz, Jeffery Prowicz, Wayne Richard Zefedlt, II, and Lara-Anne Zefeldt, and her great grandchildren Jasmine Prowicz, Kane Prowicz, Elaine Cizma, and Grace Cizma. She was aunt of many.
