    ROBERT W. DURHAM
    Rolling Meadows Resident

    A funeral service for Robert W. Durham, 80, of Rolling Meadows, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11 at the Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Friday, Nov. 10 from 4 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Durham was born on April 29, 1926 in Chicago. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army. He worked as a tub salesman and was a member of the Merle Guild American Legion Post 208, Arlington Heights. He died on Nov. 6, 2006. Mr. Durham is preceded in death by his brother Warren (Marilyn). He is survived by his wife Catherine, children Cynthia (Glenn) Rogers and Jeffrey Durham, siblings Raymond (Mildred, Kenneth, George, Jacky, Leonard, and Loren (Alice) Durham, as well his 22 nieces and nephews.

    FLORENCE ENGELUND
    Of Park Ridge

    Farewell gathering and service of reflection for Florence Elizabeth Engelund, 92, of Park Ridge took place Thursday, Nov. 9 at Nelson Funeral Home. Interment at Mt. Olive Cemetery. Ms. Engelund, the beloved daughter of the late Peter and Antonia Engelund, was a retired Chicago public school teacher.

    SALLY B. FOGGIA
    Of Niles

    Funeral services for Sally B. Foggia, 88, of Niles took place Friday, Nov. 3 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Juliana Church. Visitation was the preceding day. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum. Ms. Foggia was born April 23, 1918. A homemaker, she was a former member of the St. Juliana Church and the St. Juliana Church Womanıs Guild. She passed away Tuesday, Oct. 31, at Lutheran General Hospital. Mrs. Foggia was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Perkovich, and her father. She is survived by her husband, John A. Foggia, her son John (Chris) Foggia, her grandchildren Juli (James) Comfort, Jeannie Foggia, John Foggia, and Jennifer Foggia, and her great grandchildren Amanda Comfort and Samantha Comfort.

    DR. JAMES E. GEARIEN
    Of Des Plaines

    Dr. James E. Gearien, formerly of Park Ridge, 87, died of natural causes on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at his home. He was born in central Illinois, where he grew up. He was a resident of Des Plaines and Park Ridge for the past 49 years. Dr. Gearien taught in the U.I.C. College of Pharmacy for 40 years. He was a professor and also head of the Dept. of Medicinal Chemistry and Pharmacognosy at the time of his retirement in the fall of 1988. A 1941 U.I.C. pharmacy alumni, he also held Masters and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Michigan. He was a member of Sigma Xi Scientific Honorary Society, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, and was active in the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. He was the author of several textbooks and more than one hundred other publications and was a chairman of the Division of Medicinal Chemistry of the American Chemical Society and the Academy of Pharmaceutical Science. Dr. Gearien is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen Gray Gearien, and their children, James Jr. and Anne (Mark) Mintzer. Services private. Funeral arrangements made by G.L. Hills Funeral Home.

    LESTER M. GLOVER
    Of Rolling Meadows

    A funeral service for Lester M. Glover, 85, of Rolling Meadows, will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 12 at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 11 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Mr. Glover was born on Nov. 11, 1920 in Brookhaven, Miss. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corp. He worked for the FAA as an electronics engineer and later helped his son in the heating and air conditioning business. He died on Nov. 4, 2006 at his home. Mr. Glover is preceded in death by his wife Edna ³Goodie². He is survived by his children Monte (Debbie) and Craig (Kyna), grandchildren Christine (Christopher) Sawyer, Daniel, Matthew, Monica, Apron, Brynn, Taylor and Sullivan Glover, and great-grandchildren Ethan and Luke Sawyer.     BARBARA B. GORE
    Arlington Heights Resident

    A funeral service for Barbara B. Gore, 77, of Arlington Heights, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 18 at The Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights. Visitation will be on Saturday, Nov. 18 from noon until time of service. Ms. Gore was born on Sept. 10, 1929 in Chicago. She was formerly of Long Grove and Park Ridge. She was a member of the Chicago Bontonical Garden, the Long Grove Historical Society, and the Long Grove Garden Club. She died on Nov. 3, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Ms. Gore is preceded in death by her parents Otto and Harriet Harz. She is survived by her children Susan (Joe) Rizzi and Alan (Dawn) Gore, grandchildren Joseph III and Nicholas Rizzi, Whitney Baldwin, Phillip, Maggie and Payton Gore, and brother Norbert (Arlene) Harz. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to The Long Grove Historical Society, The Long Grove Garden Club, or The Chicago Bontonical Gardens.

    LILIANA HILL
    Formerly of Park Ridge

    A funeral service for Liliana Hill, 71, formerly of Park Ridge, will be today at 11:30 a.m. at Nelson Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Visitation was yesterday at the funeral home. Mrs. Hill was born June 22, 1935 in Vilno, Poland (now Lithuania) to Irena and Wlodzimierz Mandryk. She passed away Friday, Nov. 5 at her sonıs home. Mrs. Hill was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Hill, and her daughter-in-law, Keri Hill. She is survived by her son, Tomasz (Sharon) Goral, her sister Irena Kutbay, her brother Miroslaw (Jagoda) Progress, her stepson Michael Hill and stepdaughter Karen (Will) Slawson, her niece, Monika Lisowska, her nephew Attila Kutbay, and her grandchildren Jasio Goral, Alek Goral, Brian Hill, and Nicole Slawson.

    HELEN M. KERZ
    Formerly of Park Ridge

    A funeral service for Helen M. Kerz (nee Hart), 94, formerly of Park Ridge, took place Monday, Oct. 30 at Queen of All Saints Basilica Church. Visitation was the preceding day. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Mrs. Kerz was born Sept. 8, 1912 in Chicago. She passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, Oct. 24. Se was preceded in death by her husband Frank P. Kerz and her sisters Catherine Hart, Mary (the late Lewis), Schmidt, and Alice (the late Gene) Ryan. She is survived by her children Nancy E. Kerz and John J. Kerz, and her dear sister Marguerite (the late Tom) Gaughan. She was fond aunt and great aunt of many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations appreciated to the Shrine of St. Jude, 1909 S.     TESSIE B. KREMPA

    A funeral service for Tessie B. Krempa (nee Malik), 82, of Niles took place on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Malec and Sons Funeral Home in Chicago. Visitation was the previous day. Interment at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Mrs. Krempa passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31. She is survived by her beloved husband Chester Krempa, her loving children Diane Fisher, Danita (George) Tossi, Melanie (Steven) Ryan and Michelle (Bill) Horn, and dearest grandchildren Jonathan, David, Mark, Jeremy, Kyle, and Emily Tess. Ms. Kubes was born June 16, 1923 in Chicago. She worked as a secretary. She passed away on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Bethany Terrace Nursing Home. Ms. Kubes was preceded in death by her parents, Caroline Schrage and Ernest J. Kubes, and her brother Kenneth (Elaine) Kubes. She is survived by her sister-in-law Elaine Kubes, her nephew Scott (Lauren) Kubes, her great niece Alexandra Kubes and her great nephew James Kubes.

    ANTON KUHN
    Of Evanston

    Funeral services for Anton Kuhn, 95, of Evanston took place on Wednesday, Nov. 8 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and St. Mary Church. Visitation was the preceding day. Interment at Maryhill Cemetery. Mr. Kuhn was born April 8, 1911. A veteran and insurance stock supervisor, he passed away on Saturday, Nov. 4 at Kinghome Assisted Living. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andreas and Maria (nee Hellebrand) Kuhn, and his wife Magdalena Kuhn. He is survived by his daughters Hilde (Fritz) Becker and Trudy (Frand) Stadler, his brother Feri (Gertraud) Kuhn, his grandchildren Walter (Lisa) Stadler, Richard (Kimberly) Stadler, Peter (Kristen) Stadler, and Robert (Sheila) Stadler, and many family members in Germany.

    VIRGINIA C. KUNZE
    Of Des Plaines

    Funeral services for Virginia C. Kunze, 84, of Des Plaines took place Monday at Matz Funeral Home and St. Emily Church, both in Mt. Prospect. Visitation was the preceding day. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Mrs. Kunze was born on Nov. 19, 1921 in Waconia, Minn. She passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1 at her home. She was a homemaker and a member of the Elgin Country Club. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Kenneth C. Kunze. She is survived by her loving children Barbara (Martin) Mazurek, Beth (Robert) Janssen, K.C. (Sue) Kunze and Kurt (Marguerite) Kunze, her fond sisters Carol York and Connie Ryan, her dear grandchildren Michelle, Bryant, Jason, Julia, Charlie, Nick, Ben, and Sam, and her great grandson Lucas.

    ANNA L. LAZ
    Of Niles

    A funeral service for Anna L. Laz, 92, of Niles, took place on Thursday, Nov. 2. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A funeral mass followed at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery. Ms. Laz was born on June 6, 1914 in Christopher, Ill. She worked as a telephone operator for Central Telephone. She died on Oct. 28, 2006 at Lutheran General Hospital. Ms. Laz is preceded in death by her parents George and Elizabeth Chervenak, husband Stanley Valentine Laz, brothers George Chervenak and Andrew Matthew Chervenak, and sister Marion Smithburg. She is survived by her daughter June Laz, Dolores (Thomas) Ann Coryell, and June Marie Laz, grandchild Louis Charles Coryell, great grand-child Christopher Charles Coryell, God son Medard Laz, and many nieces and nephews.

    JOHN LOPRIENO
    Of Elk Grove Village

    A memorial service for John Loprieno, 81, was held on Wednesday, Nov. 8, at the Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Mr. Loprieno was born on March 8, 1925, and died on Saturday, Nov. 8. Mr Loprieno served in the Navy and was employed as a teacher at West Leyden High School and Triton College. He was survived by his beloved wife Julie (nee Buster) formerly Fudala, his children John (Lisa), Dan (Heidi), and Nancy (Rick) Klaman, his grandchildren Danielle, Elise, John, Haley, Delaney, Luke, Katie, and Kevin, and brother Dan (Anne). He was preceded in death by his parents Charles and Jeanne, and his former wife Arlene (nee Arnold). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

    EDWARD J. MERES

    A funeral service for Edward J. Meres, 80, of Niles, took place on Thursday, Nov. 2 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A funeral mass followed at Our Lady of Ransom Church. Visitation was held on Wednesday, Nov. 1 at the funeral home. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery. Mr. Meres was born on Sept. 29, 1926 in Chicago. He worked as an electrician and was a veteran. He died on Oct. 30, 2006 at his home. Mr. Meres is preceded in death by his parents Stanley and Valeria and his sister Stella (late Stanley) Slackert He is survived by his wife Dorothy, daughers Cheryl (Milan) (Meres) Matheson and Deborah Meres, grandchildren Bill and Julia Matheson, sisters Dolores (Ronald) Gryzlak, Mary (late Donald) Rudlophsen, and Lottie (late Ted) Konieczny, and brother Frank Meres, as well as his many nieces and nephews.

    STEPHANIE K. POMPER
    Des Plaines

    A funeral service for Stephanie K. Pomper (nee Wirtitsch), 82, of Des Plaines, will be Tuesday, Nov. 14 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Severinoıs River Woods Funeral Chapels in Des Plaines. Interment Private. Mrs. Pomper, formerly of Norwood Park, was born August 30, 1924 in Austria the daughter of John and Anna Wirtitsch. She was a devoted wife and family woman. She loved bowling until her last days. She was an avid Cubs and Bulls fan, and former secretary of the Austrian Social Club. She passed away on Sunday, Nov. 5 at Lutheran General Hospital. Mrs. Pomper was preceded in death by her son Steven Pomper and her brother Hubert Wirtitsch. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Walter E. Pomper, her son John (Sandra) Pomper, her brothers George Wirtitsch and Lou Wirtitsch, her grandchildren Nicole Pomper, Jesse Pomper, Romana Pomper, Kristel Johnson, and Verena Skinner, and her daughter-in-law Cheryl Pomper.

    WILLIAM SCHULTE
    Of Niles

    A funeral service for William Schulte, 96, took place Tuesday, Oct. 17 at St. Juliana Church. Visitation was at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment at All Saints Cemetery. Mr. Schulte, a candy maker for Mars, was born on February 16, 1910 in Cincinnati. He was a longtime member of the Independent Order of Foresters. He passed away Friday, Oct. 13 at Oakton Pavillion Nursing Home. Mr. Schulte is preceded in death by his parents William Ferdinand and Margaret (nee Wintorsole) Schulte, his wife Cecelia (nee Lewandowski) Schulte, his niece Joan (John) Gazinski, and his nephews Clarence (Doris) Baillie and William (the late Elaine) Baillie. He is survived by his sons Bill Schulte, Robert M. (Thecla) Schulte, and Ralph J. Schulte, and his friends Jovita Howitt, Connie TonBruin, and Walter Szyszka. He was great Uncle of many.

    EDWARD J. WEBER
    Rolling Meadows Resident

    A funeral service for Edward J. ³Eddie² Weber, 41, of Rolling Meadows, will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12 at Meadows Funeral Home. Visitation will be on Sunday, Nov. 12 from 1 p.m. until time of service. Mr. Weber was born on Aug. 18, 1965 in Arlington Heights. He enjoyed shopping with him mom and dad and being outdoors, helping his mom in her flower garden. He passed away on Nov. 2, 2006 at Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights. Mr. Weber is preceded in death by his grandfather Edward. He is survived by his parents Ron and Sally, sister Sandy, brother-in-law Jeff, nieces and nephews Emily and Joshua Troutman, and grandparents Genevieve Weber and Joseph and Margurite Schmidt.
