    ALOYSIUS P. ANGSTEN
    of Park Ridge

    A funeral service for Aloysius P. "Al" Angsten, 91, will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Visitation was Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Memory Gardens. Mr. Angsten worked at Maine East High School for over 42 years. He was superintendent of Grounds and Maintenance and was also a Park Ridge volunteer firefighter. He later became first assistant fire chief until his retirement in 1968. Mr. Angsten enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing, and was also a devoted Chicago White Sox, Bears, and Blackhawks fan. Mr. Angsten is preceded in death by his siblings Marcella, Mathias "Fritz", Peter "Jim", Lucille, Phyllis "Jean", Jerome, and JoAnne. He is survived by his wife LaVergne L. "Bernie", children Allen N. (Elaine) and Linnea (Jerry) Qualter, grandchildren Cheryl (Bob) Bacigalupo and Lori (Tony) Madl, and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by brothers Thomas J. and Robert P.

    OLIVIERO BALDASSARI
    of Niles

    A funeral service for Oliviero Baldassari, 81, was held on Oct. 7 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A mass followed the service at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the funeral home and interment took place at All Saints Cemetery. Mr. Baldassari was born on May 2, 1925. He worked as a Carpenter. He died on Oct. 3, 2006 at Central Baptist Village. Mr. Baldassari is preceded in death by his parents Raffaelo and Imola. He is survived by wife Edda, daughter Marry Ann (Donald) Smith and grandchildren Dana and Donnie. In lieu of flowers, masses will be appreciated.

    PAUL G. BARTON
    of Elk Grove Village

    A funeral service for Paul G. Barton, 72, too place Oct. 6 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Visitation took place Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the chapel. Interment will take place at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Mr. Burton was born in Chicago and was a resident of Elk Grove since 1991. He was an employee of Binks Manufacturing for 20 years and a member of the Irish Clowns. Mr. Burton is survived by his wife Dolores, son Kenneth P., daughters Doborah S, Lynee B. Pieroni, and Pamela J. (Jose) Mayer, as well grandchildren Allison and Ashley Pieroni.

    STELLA BIALAS
    of Niles

    A funeral service for Stella Bialas, 96, took place on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home and at Our Lady of Ransom Church on the same day. Visitation took place Monday, Oct. 9 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Ms. Bialas was born on December 21, 1909 in Chicago. She died Saturday, Oct. 7. She was preceded in death by parents Ignatius Smigiel, Frances Smigiel, husband Joseph Bialas, husband Walter Mazur, and son Walter (Joanne) Bialas. She is survived by daughter Lisa (Mark) Orzada and grandson Bradley Walter Orzada.

    NORMAN C. CARLSON
    of Northbrook

    A funeral service for Norman C. Carlson, 95, took place on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church in Roselle. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the church. Mr. Carlson was born on Jan. 2, 1911. He served as vice president,comptrollerr and CFO of Maytag Company and was also a committed Christian volunteer. His son Raymond is the executive director of the Inland Press Association in Des Plaines. Mr. Carlson died on Sept. 29, 2006 at the Covenant Village of Northbrook. He is preceded in death by his wife Thelma, sister Ingrid Carlsen Andersen, and brother Carl. He is survived by his sons Raymond and Dennis, grandchildren William S, Kember Lee Carlsen Nelson, Joel, Kay Carlsen Haas, and Kristi Carlsen McConnell, as well as his nine great grandchildren.     ALICE K. CUNNINGHAM
    of Arlington Heights

    A funeral mass for Alice K. Cunningham, 89, was held Monday, Oct. 9 at Immaculate Conception Church. Visitation took place on Monday as well at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery. Ms. Cunningham died on Oct. 4, 2006. She is preceded in death by husbands Richard Cunningham and Kenneth Munro, sons James (Patricia) and Robert (Lynn) and sister Rosemarie Corboy. She is survived by children Larry (Katherine), Thomas (Ellen), John (Patricia), and Patrick (Margo), sister Margaret Riederer, as well as many grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

    LORRAINE F. DORFF
    of Edison Park

    A funeral Mass for Lorraine F. Dorff nee Bobb, 75, took place on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Our Lady of Wayside Church in Arlington Heights. Interment was private. Visitation was on Friday, Oct. 6 at Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mrs. Dorff grew up in Philadelphia before moving to Chicago's Edison Park neighborhood. She died on Tuesday, Oct. 3. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. and her sister Jean (late Thomas) Staunton. Her children Karen, Charles A. Jr. (Kathleen), Barbara, Lorraine (David) Menchetti, Regina (Bennett) Heller, Kevin, Michael and Christopher; her grandchildren Cecilia, Sara, Quinn, Oliver, Caitlin and Austin; and many nieces and nephews survive her.     HELEN G. DZIEMIELA
    of Niles

    A funeral service for Helen G. Dziemiela, 89, took place on Saturday, Oct. 7 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A mass followed at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Thursday, Oct. 6 at the funeral home and interment took place at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Ms. Dziemiela was born on Jan. 4, 1917 in Chicago. She worked as a computer operator at Montgomery Ward. She died on Oct. 4, 2006 at Lutheran General Hospital. Ms. Dziemiela was preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Anna Pawula and her husband Edward. She is survived by her son Lester, sister Rose (Stanley) Serwa and many nieces and nephews.

    MARIE K. EGGERT
    of Niles

    A memorial mass for Marie K. Eggert, 87, will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 12 at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Visitation was held on Saturday, Oct. 7. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Ms. Eggert was born on May 11, 1919 in Chicago. She was a homemaker. She died on Oct. 3, 2006 at Lutheran General Hospital. Ms. Eggert is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Catherine, husband Russell, daughter Karen, and sister Eileen Thoss. She is survived by her son Thomas and step son Russell "Jarry".

    ANNE F. HENDZEL
    of Park Ridge

    A funeral service for Ann F. Hendzel, 85, will take place on Saturday, Oct. 14 at 9:15 a.m. at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A Mass will follow at 10 a.m. at St. Juliana Church in Chicago. Visitation will take place on Friday, Oct. 13 from 3 to 9 p.m. Interment will be at St. Adalbert Cemetery. Ms. Hendzel was born on Nov. 12, 1930. She was a homemaker for her family and a member of the Polish Women's Alliance of America. She died on Oct. 9, 2006 at her home. Ms. Hendzel is preceded in death by her parents Stanley and Sophie Piekarz, sister Eleanore (late Matt) Burch and brother Stanley (Lottie) Piekarz. She is survived by her son Theodore S. (Carol), daughters Dolores (Frank) Cavalluzzi and Diane (Nolan) Birkenkamp, grandchildren Kelly Hendzel, Erin (Jake) Heringer, David (Samantha) Birkenkamp, Jim (Tracy) Birkenkamp and Kate Hendzel, great grandchild Evan Birkenkamp, sister Mary (late John) Cierny and brother Mitchel (Pat) Piekarz

    ARLENE KANE
    of Des Plaines

    A funeral service for Arlene Kane, 72, took place on Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A mass followed at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 9 at the funeral home and interment was at Maryhill Cemetery. Ms. Kane was born on Sept. 5, 1934 in Chicago. She was a homemaker for her family. She died on Oct. 5, 2006 at Lutheran General Hospital. Ms. Kane is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Gertrude Sawatski. She is survived by her husband Jerry, sons Mark (Sue), Scott (Pat), and Todd (Jana), daughters Keri (Doug) (Kane) Stanley, and grandchildren Gregg, Matt, Carly, Tyler, Samantha, Kayne, Tom, KJ, Cord, Kendall, and Kaden.     JEAN E. KEANE
    of Des Plaines

    A funeral service for Jean E. Keane nee Brown, 83, took place on Monday, Oct. 9 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation was on Sunday, Oct. 8, at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mrs. Keane was born on Feb. 15, 1923 in West Frankfurt, Ill. She was a registered nurse for more than 40 years. She died on Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband John. She is survived by her children John, Thomas (late Gloria), Richard and James (Mary) Keane and her six grandchildren.

    MAGDALEN A. LAMPING
    of Barrington

    Magdalen A. Lamping, 98, passed away Sunday, Oct. 8. A funeral service for Mrs. Lamping took place Thursday, Oct. 12 at St. Thomas Apostle Church, in Crystal Lake. Interment will be in Crystal Lake Memorial Park Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband Adam Lamping. She is survived by sons Robert (Donna Siben) Lamping and George (Gini Packman) Lamping, brother Frank Schnaufer, cherished grandchildren Judy, Tony, Chris, Alex and Gregory, dear great-grandchildren Garrett, Jordon, Austin, Hannah, John, Jamie, Brooke, Katelyn, Alanna and Kaelee, and great-great-grandchildren Athena and Addison.     RICHARD F. LEHNING
    of Michigan

    A funeral service for Richard Franklin Lehning, 72, took place on Saturday, Oct. 7, at St. Andrews Lutheran Church in Park Ridge. The interment was held at St. Luke Cemetery. Visitation was held Friday, Oct. 6 at the Cooney Funeral Home in Park Ridge. Mr. Lehning was the cherished husband of Diane (nee Fair), and the beloved father of Cindy (Tim) Roest and Steve (Michelle) Lehning. He was also the loving grandfather of seven grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was also survived by his brother Edward (Edith) Lehning, sister Selma Lynn, father-in-law Jean Fair and brothers-in-law Robert (Qing) and Thomas Fair. Mr. Lehning was preceded in death by his sister Norma Anetsberger. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Little Traverse Bay Humane Society, First Presbyterian Church of Petoskey, MI, or Shenandoah County Animal Shelter are appreciated.

    SEAN C. O'CONNELL
    of Des Plaines

    A funeral service for Sean C. O'Connell, 58, will take place today, Friday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Woods in Chicago. Visitation was Thursday Oct. 12 at Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Mr. O'Connell was born Nov. 23, 1947 in Evanston. He resided in Des Plaines for 28 years and worked in management at National Lamination. He died Oct. 9, 2006 at Good Shepherd Hospital. He was preceded in death by his father Chester O'Connell and his sibling Casey O'Connell. He is survived by beloved wife Janet nee Edmunds, loving son Brian (Kimberly) O'Connell, daughter Shelia O'Connell, mother Anabel O'Connell, and siblings Terry (Allyson) O'Connell, Dennis O'Connell, Bob (Mary) O'Connell, Jim (Jo Ann) O'Connell, Stacy (Herb) Blackburn, Glen (Judy) O'Connell, Eileen O'Connell, Pat (Dennis) Olson, Margaret (Jeff) Lundman, and Anita (Brian) Matheson. He leaves also his many fond nieces and nephews.

    BETTY RATHUNDE
    of Elk Grove

    A funeral mass for Betty Rathunde, 83, was held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 6 at Queen of the Rosary Chapel. Visitation took place Thurs. Oct. 5 at Grove Memorial Chapel. Chapel prayers preceded the mass at 10:30 a.m. on Friday and the interment will take place at Maryhill Cemetery at a later date. Ms. Rathunde died on Oct. 2, 2006 at Resurrection Hospital. She is preceded in death by her husband Paul A. and her son Paul Rathunde. She is survived by her children Suzanne (John) O'Brien, Georgena (Dave) Kalinowski, Betty Jane (Lester) Kalinowski, Thomas (Meribeth), Ron (Kathy), and Bill (Donna) Rathunde, brothers Tom, Ed, Wally and Jim Rowan, and sister Catherine Owens. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kevin, Christopher, Mary, Lester Jr., Victoria, Debra, David Jr., Michael, Nicole, Timothy, Kenneth and her many great grandchildren.     SYLVIA TAGLIA
    of Des Plaines

    A funeral mass for Sylvia Taglia, 62, was held on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at St. Zachary Church in Des Plaines. Visitation took place Tuesday, Oct. 10 at Oeheler Funeral Home in Des Plaines and interment was at Queen of Heaven. Ms. Taglia was born on April 5, 1944 in Chicago. She worked as a legal secretary and homemaker for her family. She died on Oct. 8, 2006 at her home. Ms. Taglia is preceded in death by her husband Robert and her daughter Kimberly. She is survived by her son Anthony, grandchildren Alysia Taglia, Nicholas Hodge, and Julia Cappelo, and sister Mary Ann (Murray) Maniacek-Gilford, as well as many nieces and nephews.     JOYCE A. TURNER

    A funeral service and visitation for Joyce A. Turner (nee Arneman), 83, of Des Plaines, was held on Tuesday, Oct. 10, at the Oehler Funeral Home in Des Plaines. Interment will take place Wednesday, Oct. 11 at the Pioneers Rest Cemetery in Two Rivers, WI. Mrs. Turner was the beloved wife of Kenneth, her husband of 59 years. She was the loving mother of children Robert (Melinda), Susan (Alexander) Alegre, Eric and David (Alicia) Turner. She was also survived by grandchildren Susannah (Emilio) Cardo, Yolanda Alegre, Alexander Alegre, Michelle, Kristine, Phillip and Wesley Turner, great grandchildren Helena Cardo, sister Hazel (John) Trager, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.     HELEN E. WILLER
    of Morton Grove

    A funeral service for Helen E. Willer, took place on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. A mass followed at St. John Brebeuf Church. Visitation was held on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at the funeral home and interment was at St. Joseph Cemetery. Ms. Willer was born on Oct. 11, 2006 in Chicago. She worked as an accountant at a CPA firm. She was also a member of the St. John Brebeuf Golden Agers and the St. Isaac Jogues 55 Plus Club. Ms. Willer is preceded in death by her parents Rudolph and Sophie Schlosser and her husband Edward G. Willer Sr. She is survived by her son Edward G. (Bonnie), daughter Joan McLaughlin, grandchildren Catherine McLaughlin and Colette and Kenneth E., sister Josephine Russell, brother-in-law Albert F. and sister-in-law Evelyn Polston.
