    FRANK G. CAPUTO
    Of Niles

    A funeral Mass for Frank G. Caputo, 79, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Visitation was Monday, Sept. 18 at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mr Caputo worked as a Real Estate Broker. He also served in the army. He is survived by his mother, Carmella Caputo (nee Dato); children Lisa Marie Caputo, Louis (Nancy) Caputo; Grandchildren Kelly, Frank and Cara; sisters Lee (Late Louis) Mazzucia, Geraldine Caputo; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father Louis Caputo and sister Anne (Andrew) Pilolla. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Research or the American Diabetes Association.

    TIMOTHY J. EFFLANDT Formerly Of
    Arlington Heights

    A funeral Mass for Timothy J. Efflandt, 38, of Elgin, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 12 at Our Lady of the Wayside Church in Arlington Heights. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery. Visitation was on Monday, Sept. 11 at Oehler Funeral Home in Arlington Heights. Mr. Efflandt was born on April 23, 1968, in Des Plaines. He died Friday, Sept. 8, 2006, at Northwestern Memorial Hospital. His parents Gerald and Joyce (nee Henrickson) Efflandt; his siblings Deborah Efflandt and Scott (Dawn) Efflandt; his nephew Joshua Efflandt; and many aunts, uncles and cousins survive him. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Children's Memorial Foundation, 2300 Children's Plaza, Chicago, IL 60614 are appreciated.

    VIRGINIA S. FERNANDEZ
    Dialysis Technician

    A memorial Mass for Virginia Sison Fernandez, 66, of Rolling Meadows, was celebrated Sept. 16 in Holy Family Church in Inverness. Burial was private. A native of the Philippines, she attended Santa Teresita School of Mid-Wifery in the Philippines and then came to the United States. She spent 30 years as a Dialysis technician at neo medical dialysis centers in the Chicago area, retiring in 1999. According to family members, who was an avid gardener, a lover of animals, and an excellent cook. Surviving are her husband, Primitivo, daughters Linda, Darlene, and Sue; grandchildren Alexia, Victoria, Samuel, and Gabriella; and sons-in-law Ron and Craig. Arrangements were by the Meadows Funeral Home.

    EUGENE Z. GADOMSKI
    Furniture Salesman

    A funeral Mass for Eugene Z. Gadomski, 79, of Niles, will be celebrated Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Ransom Church, Park Ridge. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery. A native of Chicago and a retired furniture salesman, he died Sept. 17 in the Forest Villa Nursing Home. He was a veteran of military service. Surviving are his widow, Bernice; children Kathleen Holm, Timothy (Kimberly), and Thomas (Dorothy); grandchildren Michael, Matthew, Mark, Amanda, Zachary; Bradley, Kathryn, Joseph, Christina and Paige; and a sister, Virginia Boring. He was preceded in death by his son, Eugene (Jennifer), and his brother, Steve Migala. Memorials are requested to the American Diabetes Association, 30 N. Michigan Ave., Suite 2015, Chicago, IL.

    Pearl D. Gustafson of Niles died Tuesday, Sept. 12 at 8019 N. Wisner Ave. She was born Aug. 7, 1918 in Chicago. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Alice (nee Lawrence) Bahl. She is survived by her husband, Russell E. Gustafson; son Michael (Laurel); daughters Gail (Donald) Voss and Cheryl (Russel) Kolcz; grandchildren Kimberly (George) Yutakis, Daniel Voss, David (Sarah) Voss, Shannon Voss, Jennifer Gustafson, Melissa Gustafson, Dawn Gustafson, Nikky Gustafson, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Kolcz, Kevin Kolcz and Patricia (John) Monaco; six great-grandchildren; sister June (the late Charles) Fishleigh; brother Charles (Donna) and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Gustafson's funeral was at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 15. She was buried in Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Ave.

    Marija Haller
    Mother, Grandmother

    Marija Haller lived to be 82 years and two days old. Born Sept. 13, 1924, she died Friday, Sept. 15 at St. Alexis Hospital. The Lincolnwood homemaker was preceded in death by her parents, Luka and Milka (Dosen) Pavicic; a sister, Neda and brother, Ivan. She is survived by her sons, Fred (Kathy) and Robert (Julie); daughter Helga Jasna (Haller) of Camarillo, Calif., grandchildren Ricky, Mark, Steven, Katarina, Matthew, Lucas, Evan and Kasandra; brother Ante and sisters Mica and Zora. The funeral was Tuesday, Sept. 19. She was buried in Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee Ave.

    JAMES JACQUES
    Of Niles

    A funeral Mass for James Jacques, 89, took place on Monday, Sept. 18, at St. John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Visitation was Sunday, Sept. 17 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mr Jacques worked as a truck driver. He also served in the army. He is survived by his wife Lorraine (nee Stockinger Jacques); daughter Patty (Leroy) Bacci; grandchildren James (Lisa) Pack, Kevin (Kathryn) Pack, and Kimberly (Eric) Marcus; and grandchildren Allison, Grace, MacKenzie and Payton. He was preceded in death by his father Charles Jacques and mother Charlotte (nee Caren Jacques). Interment will be private.

    Mildred M. Licitra died Friday, Sept. 15 at 8506 N. Olcott. She was born Dec. 29, 1913 in Chicago, and made a living as a clerical worker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, and parents, Carmelo and Emanuela (nee Nasello) Di Pasquale. She is survived by her daughters, Emilie (Al) Casacchia of Niles and Marilyn Sulla. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 25 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Niles. The funeral will be there at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 26, and at 10 a.m. that day at John Brebeuf Church. Mrs. Licitra will be buried at Maryhill Cemetery, 8600 N. Milwaukee Ave.

    Goldie Smith
    Garden Lover

    Goldie L. Smith (nee Bothe), born Aug. 24, 1912 in Chicago, lived to be 94. She spent more than 40 of those years in Des Plaines. Her funeral was Friday, Sept. 15 at Irging Park Lutheran Church, 3938 W. Belle Plaine in Chicago. She will be buried at Ridgwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 9900 Milwaukee Ave. in Des Plaines. Besides spending more than 30 years as an executive secretary, she was also a President of the Des Plaines Garden Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene F. Smith, sister Ione B. Eastman and brother Edward W. Bothe. She is survived by her niece, Sharon Eastman; stepchild Robert Smith; stepgrandchildren Jennifer Franz, Margaret Smith, Laurel Banach and Daniel Smith; stepgreat-grandchild Stewart Carter; stepniece Amy Miller and several cousins.

    Frank J. Sorrentino died Saturday, Sept. 2 at 8306 N. Neva Ave. The Niles resident was born Nov. 6, 1930 in Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Minnie (nee Tumminia). He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (nee Powers); sons Matthew (Jeannette), Andrew (Wendy) and Thomas (the late Michelle); daughters Maria (the late Christopher) Johnson, Mary Claire (Edward) Walsh and Jeanette (Brian) Lee; grandchildren Katrina, Alyssa, Gina, Sarina, Nicole, Kristina, Tony, Elena, Dominic, Joey, Ashley, Amy, Emma, Nora, Allison and Daniel; and brother Robert. Mr. Sorrentino's funeral was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 12 at St. John Brebeuf Church. He was buried in All Saints Cemetery, 700 N. River Road.

    MARY A. SOUTAR
    Of Elk Grove Village

    A funeral Mass for Mary A. Soutar (nee Fricker), 76, took place on Thursday, Sept. 14 at the Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village. Visitation was shortly before Mass at the Grove Memorial Chapel. Mrs Soutar was a 40 year resident of Elk Grove Village and a retired baker. She worked for Elk Grove High School for 25 years, the Alexian Brothers Medical Center and Illinois Bell Telephone. She is survived by her children John J. Jr. (Beverly) and Mary A. (David) Ball; grandchildren Neil, Natalie, Kaile, Nathan and Jordan; sisters Louise (Robert) Gilmore and Helen (Ray) Pelrine. She was preceded in death by her husband John J. Sr. who passed away in 1989, brother Walter Fricker and sister Dorothy (Gary) LaPoint. Interment was at St. Michael Cemetery in Palatine. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association.

    GERALDINE A. STOLTON
    Retired Nurse From Mt. Prospect

    A funeral Mass for Geraldine A. Stolton, (nee Schmitz), 78, took place on Tuesday, Sept. 19, at St. Emily Catholic Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines. Visitation preceded the Mass at the church. Mrs. Stolton was born in Roscoe, Minn. She lived in Park Ridge before moving to Mt. Prospect two years ago. Geraldine was a retired nurse and homemaker. She was a member of the Park Ridge Republican Party, Camp Charles Allis, and a Eucharistic Minister and Minister of Care at St. Emily Church. She died Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2006, at her home. She was preceded in death by her husband Stephen J. Stolton; her parents Josephine and Joseph Schmitz; and her siblings Clarence Schmitz, Jerome Schmitz, Beatrice Kilian, and Mildred Scott. She is survived by her children Stephen M. (Gina) Stolton, Jeannine (Ken) Hilgers, Denise (Sam) Moser, Trish (Kevin) McDonald and Flori (Billy) Fisher; her grandchildren Kevin Hilgers, Lauren Hilgers, Carson McDonald, Mallory McDonald, Emily Moser and Gabriell Stolton; and her siblings Cyril Schmitz and Dolores Zoelle. Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village made funeral arrangements.

    JULIAN STOPA
    Of Niles

    A funeral service for Julian Stopa, 90, took place on Monday, Sept. 18 at St. John Brebeuf Church. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery. Visitation was on Sunday, Sept. 17 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home in Niles. Mr. Stopa was born on Dec. 2, 1915. He was a carpenter and died on Thursday, Sept. 14 at Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge. He was preceded in death by his wife Antonina Stopa, and his parents Stanislaw and Wiktoria (nee Mikolajczyk) Stopa. His children Donna (John) Wellhausen, Henry (Barbara) Stopa and Julia Stopa; his grandchildren Lynda and Sara Wellhausen; and his brother Jan Goluszka survive him.

    JUNE MARY WERNER
    Of Elk Grove Village

    A burial service for June Mary Werner (nee Moehn), 77, took place on Saturday, Sept. 16, at Holy Cross Cemetery in Milwaukee, Wisc. Visitation preceded the service with interment following at the same location. Mrs. Werner always found time for kids, having adopted the children of a close friend. She wrote poetry to share with others and found a special love for her twin brother Jack. She worked for the village of Elk Grove for 25 years until her retirement in 1994. Mrs. Werner died on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. Her children Jon L. and Jill A. (Kevin) Brinker; her grandchildren Ethan and Jason; her siblings Jack and Thomas (Judy) Moehn; and her nieces and nephews Patty Zwieg, Cathy Hill, John Moehn and Linda Moehn survive her. Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village made funeral arrangements.
