    Melvin Buettner

    Navy Veteran Of Mt. Prospect

    A funeral service for Melvin A. Buettner, 78, of Mt. Prospect, was held Tuesday, Apr. 29 at Friedrichs Funeral Home in Mt. Prospect. Interment was at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Mt. Prospect. He was born on July 7, 1929, in St. Charles, MO. He passed away Saturday, Apr. 26 at his home. He was a graduate of Missouri School of Mines, a Navy veteran, vice president and sales for American Air Filter in Chicago, and an Elk Grove Village Republican Precinct Captain. He is survived by his wife, Mary F.; children, Mark (Maura) and Gregory A. (Candace); grandchildren, Jody and Cosima Buettner; and siblings, Kenneth (Mary) and Ruth (Harold) Nolle. Mr. Buettner was preceded in death by his parents, Louis G. and Emma (nee Flesch); and four siblings.

    Jerry J. Catenazzo

    Of Mt. Prospect

    A Mass for Jerry J. Catenazzo, 97 was celebrated on Monday, Apr. 21 at St. Raymond de Penafort Church in Mt. Prospect. Interment was in All Saints Cemetery. Born July 15, 1910, in Chicago, Mr. Catenazzo died Tuesday, Apr. 15 at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. He was the retired chef/owner of Prospect House Restaurant and Catering on Northwest Hwy. He was the husband of Helene Catenazzo (nee Maczko); father of Robert (Geriann) Catenazzo; grandfather of Christa Marie (Scott) Shelton and Anthony Robert Catenazzo; great-grand father of Kyle and Phillip Shelton; and brother of Cecilia (the late Mike) Falagari and four late siblings.

    Eric T. Clauson, Sr.

    Of Elk Grove Village

    A funeral service Eric T. Clauson Sr., 91, of Elk Grove Village, was held Friday, May 2, at Grove Memorial Chapel. Visitation was held prior to the service. Mr. Clauson was born in Chicago. He was a 42 year employee of Crane Plumbing Co. of Chicago and a 60 year member of the River Park Moose Lodge 2578. He passed away on Wednesday, Apr. 30, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center. He is preceded in death by wife Geraldine M. and grandchild Dennis Wucki. Mr. Clauson is survived by children Carole A. (John) Wucki and Eric T. Jr. (Barbara), grandchildren Robert (Sandra) Wucki, Christine (George) Baunal, Steven (Julie) Wucki and Joanne (Christopher) Lake and great-grandchildren Eric, Joshua, Elizabeth, Timothy, George, Michael, Olivia and Amelia.

    Joseph R. Gamache

    Vietnam Veteran Formerly of Des Plaines

    A funeral Mass for Joseph R. Gamache, 68, of Elk Grove Village, formerly of Des Plaines, took place on Monday, May 5, at St. Julian Eymard Church. Interment was at Randhill Park Cemetery in Arlington Heights. Visitation was at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village on Sunday, May 4. Mr. Gamache was born in Edmundston, New Brunswick, Canada. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked in the Elk Grove Village Building Dept. and as a manager at the Oasis Mobile Home Park in Des Plaines. He was a member of the VFW Post 9284 and the American Legion Des Plaines Post 690. He was also a former trustee for the Elk Grove Township Fire Dept. He died on May 1, 2008 at home. His siblings Armande (late Louis) Collin and Raymond (Mari Mai) Gamache, his loving furry friend Buddie, and many loving nieces and nephews and friends survive him.

    Robert Heiderman

    Veteran Of Niles

    A funeral service for Robert H. Heiderman of Niles, 86, was held yesterday (Tuesday) at Our Lady of Ransom Church. He was born on Feb. 9, 1922, in Chicago. He passed away Saturday, May 3 at his home. He was a war veteran and also a Quality Control Engineer for Teletype. He is survived by his wife, Jeanne (nee Godek); children, Robert Jr. (Elsa); James (June), Ronald (Barbara) and Karen (Joe) Bucci; grandchildren, James Jr., Matthew, Gina, Ryan, Lisa, Laina, Meghan, Nicholas, Meghan, and Zachary; brother, Howard (Pauline); and many nieces and nephews. Mr. Heiderman was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn (nee Schmidt) and Jeanne. Interment was held at Maryhill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc.

    William D. Pressley

    Of Des Plaines

    A funeral service for William D. Pressley, 70, of Des Plaines, was held Thursday, May 8, at Trinity Lutheran Church. Visitation took place on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment was at Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Pressley was born Feb. 10, 1938 in Sweetwater, Tennessee. He is survived by wife Donna, daughter Lynn, son Tim (Tammy) and grandchildren Amanda, Kayla, Julianna, and May. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Cancer Society, 1114 N.     Raymond Quinn

    World War II Veteran Of Rolling Meadows

    A funeral service and interment was held Saturday, May 3, for Raymond P. Quinn of Rolling Meadows, 84, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights. Visitation was held Friday at Meadows Funeral Home in Rolling Meadows. He was born on May 5, 1923 in Chicago. He died Tuesday, Apr. 29 at Manor Care of Arlington Heights. He had worked as a carpenter for Local 839 for over 40 years. He was also an Army veteran of World War II. He is survived by his children, Raymond (Karen) and Cheryl (Michael) Rosolie; grandchildren, Kelly (Ryan) Meier and Michael Quinn and Brian Rosolie. Mr. Quinn was preceded in death by his wife, June (nee Hartman); and siblings, James, Thomas, Jack Quinn, Mary Boske, Rose Hart Brzozowski and Rita Sherar. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Association.

    Kenneth D. Roovaart

    Of Des Plaines

    A funeral service for Kenneth D. Roovaart, 82, of Des Plaines, will be held at 11 a.m. tomorrow (Saturday) at Oehler Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today (Friday) at the funeral home. Interment will be private. Mr. Roovaart was born on Feb. 3, 1926 in Chicago. He worked as a department manager for Crain Communication in Chicago for many years. He was a member and past director and treasurer of the Chicagoland Dalmatian Club and a resident of Des Plaines since 1960. He passed away on May 5, 2008 at Midwest Hospice in Skokie. Mr. Roovaart is survived by wife Rita H., brother Lawrence F. (Betty), nephew Larry, niece Renee (Tim) Gapp and sister-in-law Maryln (Howard) Levin.

    Ann Schiavo

    Formerly of Elk Grove Village

    A funeral Mass for Ann Schiavo nee Podula, 86, of Itasca, took place on Saturday, May 3 at Queen of the Rosary Church. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles. Visitation was at Grove Memorial Chapel in Elk Grove Village preceding the Mass. Mrs. Schiavo was born in Chicago. She was an accomplished organist, very artistic, and a loving homemaker. She died on Apr. 30, 2008 at The Arbor of Itasca. Her husband, Emil Sr. preceded her in death. Her children Emil J. Jr. (Barbara) and Ralph (Patricia) Schiavo; her sister Carmella (William) Fink; her sister-in-law Christine (late Frank) Aguzino Schiavo; her grandchildren Deena (Robert) Snell, Matthew (Karen), and Jennifer (Adam) Applegate; her great-grandchildren Shauna Snell, Nathan and Allie Schiavo, and Andrew Applegate; and nieces and nephews and grandnieces and grandnephews survive her.     Chester J. Slupik

    Navy Veteran Of Niles

    A funeral service for Chester J. Slupik, 87, of Niles, was held Monday, May 5, at St. Juliana Church. Visitation took place Sunday, May 4 at Skaja Terrace Funeral Home. Interment was at All Saints Mausoleum. Mr. Slupik was born on Sept. 19, 1920 in Chicago. He was a veteran of the Navy and worked for many years as a machinist for a staple company. He passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2008 at Rainbow Hospice Ark. He is preceded in death by parents Stanley and Julia and brother William. Mr. Slupik is survived by wife Evelyn (Koziol), daughter Karen (James) Gutsmiedl, grandchildren Matthew (Michele) and Jeffrey (Alison) Gutsmiedl, great-grandchildren Mason and Keira, brothers Stanley, Mitchell, Walter, Edward, William and many nieces and nephews.     Mathew Weber

    World War II Veteran Of Mt. Prospect

    A funeral service for Mathew L. Weber of Arlington Heights, 89, was held Tuesday, May 6 at St. James Church. Interment was at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Arlington Heights. He was born on Oct. 18, 1918 in Chicago. He passed away Friday, May 2 at the Lutheran Home in Arlington Heights. He was a World War II naval veteran. He also had worked for Motorola for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Annette (nee Datillo); son, Robert (Debbie); grandchildren, Sara (Gordon) Williamson and Todd and Amy Weber; and siblings, Tony Haddow and Francis (Marcella) Weber. Mr. Weber was preceded in death by his five brothers and nine sisters.

    George Wellek

    World War II Veteran Of Des Plaines

    A funeral service George Wellek, 94, of Des Plaines, will be held at 11 a.m. today (Friday) at Oehler Funeral Home. Interment will be at Ridgewood Memorial Park Cemetery. Mr. Wellek was born Mar. 31, 1914 in Chicago. He worked for Household Finance in Chicago for 16 years before owning his own finance company, Titan Loan Co., for two years. He was the owner for 20 years of Everspray Lawn and Irrigation Co. and finished his career as the owner of United Fire Protection Corp. in Des Plaines. He was an honorary life member of Des Plaines Elks #1526, a member of the Des Plaines Rotary Club, former trustee of the original North Maine Fire Protection District and a World War II Army Veteran. He was a Des Plaines resident of 60 years. He passed away on May 5, 2008. Mr. Wellek is survived by wife Emily G., son Michael G. (Sharyn), daughter Karen E. (Philip) Scott, grandchildren and a sister.
