Police Blotter
These items are from Niles Police Department incident reports. The Niles Journal publishes this police blotter every Wednesday.
HIT-AND-RUN CHARGED
Innessa E. Goloshubova, 44, of 3451 Carriageway Drive, Arlington Heights, was charged with leaving the scene of an accident, failure to give information, no proof of insurance, and failure to avoid an accident. She allegedly struck a parked car in the 7000 block of Howard Street at 10:03 p.m. June 7. She allegedly fled from the scene and officers located her vehicle in the 6800 block of Oakton Street with damage consistent with the traffic crash. She turned herself in to police on June 9.
DUI CHARGES
Ghazanfer Aslam, 35, of 1619 S. Charlotte Court, Lombard, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, and speeding. An officer stopped him in the 8200 block of Milwaukee Avenue at 12:33 a.m. June 7 for allegedly driving at 50 mph in a 35 mph zone. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .183 on a breath test.
RETAIL THEFT CHARGED
Corazon I. DeVilla, 58, of 312 Locust Drive, Wilmette, was charged with petite theft at Wal-Mart, 5630 Touhy Ave. She was stopped at 5:49 p.m. June 10 after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for six air fresheners valued at a total of $29.64.
An 18-year-old Chicago man was charged with petite theft at 1:16 p.m. June 9 at Target, 6150 W. Touhy Ave. He allegedly tried to leave without paying for nine DVDs.
Gabriel Mora, 38, of 542 Pleasant Run, Wheeling, was charged with petite theft at Wal-Mart, 8500 W. Golf Rd. He was stopped at 5:16 p.m. June 7 after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for a scan card valued at $25.88.
DRIVING CHARGES
Sergio Sanchez, 25, of 8036 W. Lyons Ave., Niles, was charged with no valid driver's license and speeding at 10:10 a.m. June 10. Police stopped him at Dempster Street and Osceola Avenue for allegedly driving at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Jose L. Perez, 23, of 5016 N. Ridgeway Ave., Chicago, was charged with no valid driver's license, no proof of insurance, and speeding. An officer pulled him over in the 6600 block of Howard Street at 10:42 p.m. June 10 for the alleged traffic violation.
Reyad Hammad, 43, of 15329 Brassie St., Orland Park, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license at 1:51 p.m. June 9. Police stopped him in the 8500 block of Dempster Street for allegedly driving at 49 mph in a 35 mph zone.
Frank R. Perdomo, 58, of 9551 Sumac Rd., Des Plaines, was charged with driving with a suspended driver's license and speeding. He was pulled over in the 7800 block of Milwaukee Avenue at an unreleased time on June 9 for allegedly driving at 52 mph in a 35 mph zone.
ALCOHOL CHARGE
Noel F. Duffy, 40, of 7022 Ozark Ave., Chicago, was charged with public intoxication and cost of emergency services at 4:46 a.m. June 6. Police located him allegedly sleeping in a parking lot in the 7200 block of Waukegan Road.
BURGLARIES AND THEFTS
Two men forced open a shed on Carol Street at 4:20 a.m. June 12. A witness saw the men kick open the door. It was unknown if anything was taken from the structure.
Four rims and tires were taken from a car in the 7700 block of North Nordica Avenue between 8:15 p.m. June 7 and 5:45 a.m. June 9.
A driver's license and a credit card were taken from a garage in the 8800 block of Greenwood Avenue between 6 and 8 p.m. June 6.
Someone took a wallet containing a driver's license, credit cards, and $75 cash from a locker at X-Sport Fitness Club, 9210 N. Milwaukee Ave. The burglary occurred between 2 and 3 p.m. June 6.
A resident in the 8400 block of Bruce Street heard someone open his unlocked garage door at about 11:35 p.m. June 6. When he went outside, he saw a man holding his toolbox. The suspect dropped the toolbox and walked away, the victim told police.
Someone entered a garage in the 7700 block of Oconto Avenue between 3 p.m. June 4 and 10 a.m. June 5. Nothing was taken from the building, but several items inside were moved, according to the police report.
Several items were taken from a home in the 8400 block of Crain Street while the residents were inside sleeping. The burglary occurred between 11:50 p.m. June 4 and 3:44 a.m. June 5. One resident awoke to the sound of her dog barking and found doors open. Missing were a computer, a flat screen television, a purse containing credit cards and two signed checks, a wallet, and a telephone.
A window was broken and a cellular telephone and a pack of cigarettes were taken from an SUV in the 9500 block of Greenwood Avenue between 5 and 10 p.m. June 5.
VANDALISM REPORTS
Someone scratched several body panels of a car in the 8500 block of Golf Road between 11:30 p.m. June 7 and 1:34 a.m. June 8.
A car windshield was broken in the 8000 block of Churchill Street between noon and 7:30 p.m. June 6.
Someone scratched body panels of a car in the parking lot of Golf Mill Mall between 2 and 3:30 p.m. May 30.
