Police Blotter

These items are from Niles Police Department incident reports. The Niles Journal publishes this police blotter every Wednesday.

DOMESTIC BATTERY CHARGED

Jaroslow Wec, 39, of 6638 W. Madison Drive, Niles, was charged with domestic battery at an unreleased time on June 2. He was taken into custody at his home.

DRUG CHARGES

Jeffrey A. Maczek, 26, of 8286 Elmore St., Niles, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic syringe at an unreleased time on June 1. Police saw him walking in the 7900 block of Waukegan Road carrying a T-shirt tied into a bag and stopped him for investigation. Officers allegedly recovered hypodermic syringes and a can bottom containing heroin residue from his possession.

DUI CHARGES

Rolando R. Gonzalez, 24, of 1621 Howard St., Des Plaines, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, improper lane usage, and disobeying a traffic control device. He was stopped at 2:17 a.m. June 5 for allegedly going through a red light on Oakton Street at Milwaukee Avenue and weaving between lanes. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .145 on a breath test.

Moises Marin, 23, of 330 Alles St., Des Plaines, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, failure to secure an Illinois driver's license, and improper lane usage. Police stopped him at 12:31 a.m. June 4 for allegedly going straight from a left turn lane at Milwaukee Avenue and Ballard Road. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .077 on a breath test.

Linda A. Reamer, 50, of 2936 N. 77th Court, Elmwood Park, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol at an unreleased time on June 1. Police stopped her at Milwaukee and Touhy avenues for allegedly driving up over the curb. She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later refused a breath test.

Irena I. Tomova, 24, of 2446 W. Bel Air Drive, Glenview, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of alcohol, and only one headlight. Police pulled her over in the 8200 block of Golf Road at 3:12 a.m. May 31 for the alleged lighting violation. She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later refused a breath test. Police allegedly recovered an open bottle of spiced rum from inside her vehicle.

Ronald Podgorski, 35, of 3852 N. Pioneer Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 11:42 p.m. May 30. An officer pulled him over in the 8000 block of Milwaukee Avenue for allegedly driving at 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later refused a breath test. Podgorski allegedly called the officers obscenities, offered to perform a sexual act on one of them, told them they were not real police, and said he would have Chicago cops arrest them, according to the police report.

Ely Raspa, 30, of 4631 Laurel Ave., Glenview, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, and two counts of improper lane usage at 3:55 a.m. May 30. Police stopped him in the 8700 block of Milwaukee Avenue for allegedly crossing the lane and center lines. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .130 on a breath test.

Chul H. Yang, 34, of 338 Hillcrest Lane, Lombard, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, and no headlights. He was pulled over at 2:51 a.m. May 30 for allegedly not using his headlights in the 8700 block of Milwaukee Avenue. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .153 on a breath test.

Cesar Puentes, 26, of 75 S. River Rd., Des Plaines, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and blood alcohol content more than .08 percent at 2:41 a.m. May 30. An officer stopped him in the 8800 block of Dempster Street for allegedly driving without headlights. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .167 on a breath test.

RETAIL THEFT CHARGED

Danielle S. Pearson, 36, of 1524 Seymour St., North Chicago, was charged with retail theft at Wal-Mart, 8500 Golf Rd. She was stopped at 5:55 p.m. June 4 after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for five pieces of clothing valued at a total of $88.84.

Brandon Carver, 21, of 996 N. Greenbay Rd., Winnetka, was charged with retail theft at 1:32 p.m. June 4. He was taken into custody at Jewel Food Store, 7900 Milwaukee Ave. after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for a bottle of vodka valued at $13.97.

Milagros S. Hieras, 61 of 660 N. Waikiki Drive, Des Plaines, was charged with retail theft at 3:15 p.m. June 2. She was taken into custody at J.C. Penney in Golf Mill Mall after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for two bracelets, two shawls, and two shirts valued at a total of $170.
