Police Blotter

RUSE ENTRY
A 95-year-old man on Oriole Avenue reported a man used a phony reason to gain entry to his home at 10:15 a.m. Nov. 20. The man came to the victim's door and said he needed to check the basement sewer line for damage. The victim allowed him into the house and they both went into the basement. The suspect left after about 10 or 15 minutes. The victim then noticed someone had ransacked his bedroom. It was unknown what was taken from the house.
DRUG CHARGES
Maryann Davis, 49, of 937 N. Long Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia driving with a suspended driver's license, no proof of insurance, and suspended registration. Police apprehended her in the 7600 block of Dempster Street during an investigative traffic stop at 3:34 p.m. Nov. 21. When she got out of her vehicle, she was allegedly holding a glass crack pipe in her hand, police said.
Heather D. Mathews, 20, of 9098 Terrace Drive, Niles, was charged with possession of cannabis at 7:05 p.m. Nov. 20. She was taken into custody at Kohl's Department Store in Golf Mill Mall. Police allegedly recovered a plastic bag containing suspected marijuana from her while escorting her from the store.
DUI CHARGES
Jamal A. Liddell, 32, of 1715 Pavilion Way, Park Ridge, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and speeding at 3:40 a.m. Nov. 22. An officer stopped him in the 8600 block of Greenwood Avenue for allegedly driving at 48 mph in a 35 mph zone on Dempster Street. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later refused a breath test.
Juanita Ramos, 41, of 1646 N. Springfield Ave., Chicago, was charged with two counts of aggravated driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, driving with a suspended driver's license, no proof of insurance, expired registration, illegal transportation of alcohol, and improper lane usage. Police pulled her over at 3:34 a.m. Nov. 22 in the 7300 block of Dempster Street for allegedly crossing the lane lines several times. She allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .154 on a breath test. Officers allegedly recovered an open bottle of tequila from inside her vehicle.
Martin M. McKinnon, 35, of 4857 W. Grace St., Chicago, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol, blood alcohol content more than .08 percent, no proof of insurance, illegal transportation of alcohol, and speeding. At 9:10 a.m. Nov. 21, an officer stopped him in the 8200 block of Milwaukee Avenue for allegedly driving at 57 mph in a 35 mph zone. He allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later recorded a .167 on a breath test. Police allegedly recovered 14 cans of beer from inside his vehicle.
Radny Clamana, 40, of 9660 Lois Drive, Des Plaines, was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage at 1:56 a.m. Nov. 21. He allegedly crossed the centerline in the 7600 block of Milwaukee Avenue, nearly striking a squad car head on, according to the police report. He was stopped in the 8700 block. Clamana allegedly failed field sobriety tests and later refused a breath test.
ALCOHOL CHARGE
Elizaveta Mikhailova, 27, of 1630 Mulberry Lane, Elgin, was charged with public intoxication and cost of emergency services. Police stopped her at 1:15 p.m. Nov. 23 in the 9200 block of Greenwood Avenue where she allegedly nearly walked into traffic.
RETAIL THEFT CHARGED
Alison N. Hahn, 24, of 115 S. Chicago Ave., Mundelein, was charged with retail theft and possession of a hypodermic syringe at 4:32 p.m. Nov. 23. She was stopped at J.C. Penney in Golf Mill Mall after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for a purse, gloves, and a hat. During a search, police allegedly recovered eight syringes from her purse.
An 18-year-old Chicago man was charged with retail theft at Target, 6150 Touhy Ave. at 3:24 p.m. Nov. 22. He allegedly tried to leave without paying for a camera valued at $149.99.
Anthony Reese, 49, of 5142 W. Wabansia Ave., Chicago, was charged with felony retail theft at 3:34 p.m. Nov. 21. Police stopped him at Dempster Street and Oswego Avenue in Morton Grove. He allegedly left Jewel Food Store, 7900 Milwaukee Ave., without paying for six bottles of liquor valued at a total of $204.64.
Julio C. Sanchez, 28, of 7246 Crain St., Niles, was charged with retail theft at 3:10 p.m. Nov. 21. He was taken into custody at Sears Roebuck & Co. in Golf Mill Mall after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for gym shoes valued at $59.99.
Maria S. Gonzalez, 29, of 652 Piper Lane, Prospect Heights, was charged with retail theft at Kohl's Department Store in Golf Mill Mall. She was stopped at 8:54 p.m. Nov. 21 after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for clothes and a purse valued at a total of $169.78.
Gary W. Gentry III, 23, of 1200 W. Pratt Blvd., Chicago, was charged with retail theft at Target in Golf Mill Mall at 10:30 p.m. Nov. 20. While working as a loss prevention manager for the store, he allegedly tried to leave without paying for eight DVDs valued at a total of $230.92.
Jane Ventrella, 74, of 7804 W. Winnemac Ave., Norridge, was charged with retail theft at 12:30 p.m. Nov. 20. She was stopped at Jewel Food Store, 8203 Golf Rd., after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for three steaks, antacid, yogurt, and sundries valued at a total of $68.43.
Zulma R. Cancel, 29, of 5357 W. Wellington Ave., Chicago, was charged with petite theft at Wal-Mart, 5630 Touhy Ave. She was stopped at 7:34 p.m. Nov. 22 after she allegedly tried to leave without paying for clothing valued at a total of $114.
Meng S. Lim, 20, of 2623 W. Rascher Ave., Chicago, was charged with petite theft at 3:05 p.m. Nov. 22. Police stopped him at Wal-Mart, 5630 Touhy Ave., after he allegedly tried to leave without paying for a remote control, batteries, candy, and a cellular telephone cover valued at a total of $56.63.
An 18-year-old Chicago man was charged with petite theft at Target, 6150 Touhy Ave., at 1:22 p.m. Nov. 21. He allegedly tried to leave without paying for six video games valued at a total of $103.
BURGLARIES AND THEFTS
Someone broke a window on a car in the 8500 block of Golf Road and took two oil heaters, five bags of groceries, identification, and a Social Security card. The burglary occurred on Nov. 21.
