Two Teens Hit By Car OK, Charged

Two 14-year-old girls were rushed to Lutheran General Hospital Park Ridge Monday afternoon in stable condition after a car struck them both.

A Cook County Sheriff's Police spokesman said the two received no serious injuries and were brought to the hospital as a precaution.

The accident happened at the intersection of Dee and Golf roads on Niles' border with Maine Township.

The Cook County Sheriff's Police spokesman said the two girls were running into eastbound traffic on Golf Road from between parked cars.

The two girls were cited for improper walking on a roadway.

North Maine Fire Protection Dist. Chief Rich Dobrowski said both teens were conscious after the accident.

The North Maine Fire Protection Dist. and Niles Fire Dept. responded to the scene Monday at about 2:30 p.m. each transporting one of the girls to Lutheran General.

The girls are scheduled to appear in the Cook County Circuit Court in Skokie on Wednesday, Nov. 12.
