Who Shot ND Grad?
A former student at Notre Dame High School for Boys in Niles and a Chicago man were shot and killed in the early morning hours of Monday, Apr. 21 in midtown St. Louis, Mo.
According to St. Louis police, officers received a call of "shots fired" around 3:15 a.m. Upon arrival, officers observed Daniel Wrona, 23, of the 8900 block of North Oriole Avenue in Morton Grove, sitting in the passenger seat of a 2007 Hum mer, dead from a gunshot wound to the neck.
Michael Aguilera Jr., 25, of the 6000 block of North Sheridan Road in Chicago, was located in the driver's seat. He was taken to an area hospital, and pronounced dead from a gunshot wound to his face.
Police said they have made no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
Wrona, who attended Notre Dame High School, was president of his senior class in 2003.
According to reports, the two met one another when they attended DePaul University in Chicago. Aguilera used to work in St. Louis a couple of years ago and invited Wrona to come along to visit friends.
A funeral service for Wrona was held Saturday, Apr. 26 at St, John Brebeuf Church in Niles. Interment was at Maryhill Cemetery.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1985 in Chicago. He worked as a real estate consultant in Chicago.
He is survived by his parents, Andrzej and Krystyna; sister, Angelica; grandparents, John and Helen Muniak and Janina and Ryszard Wrona; aunts, Elizabeth (Adam) Rajman, Yolanda (Dan) Buczkowski and Beata Tarchala; uncle, Stanislaw Wrona, cousins, Brian, Michael, Darryl, Jackie, Johnny, Nicole, Adelina, Krzysztof and Zaneta; great aunt, Henryka Holodzluk and numerous friends.
Service information for Aguilera was not disclosed.
