Only Two On Dist. 63 Staff Leaving After Year

With the end of the school year for children in East Maine Elementary School Dist. 63 quickly approaching, an unusually small number of administrative personnel are planning retirement.

Only two such employees will retire at the end of the year.

Long-time Gemini Jr. High School secretary Glenda Busiel and Katherine Ruh, executive director of curriculum and instruction, will end their careers in Dist. 63 in June.

Ruh has been employed with Dist. 63 for the last five years. Prior to joining the local district, she had been employed with a Wisconsin school system.

In her role, she was responsible for coordinating all of the students' curriculum in Dist. 63 as well as coordinator of professional development for teachers and assessment of children.

A replacement for Ruh has not been hired.

Supt. Kathleen Williams's employment contract with Dist. 63 expires in 2009.
