THE JOURNAL & TOPICS NEWSPAPERS | WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2005
Beginning at 1 p.m., entertainer Mike Vondruska will combine juggling, unicycling, comedy an audience participation into a program sure to please everyone. Mike is the founder of the Illinois Juggling Institute and has taught hundreds of people how to juggle. Families will be thoroughly entertained by his wandering performance.
Jutta and the Hi-Dukes take the stage at 3 p.m. These multi-instrumentalists teach and lead simple, fun line and circle dances and get folks drumming along on the band's percussion instruments. This group's exciting music, drawn from over 20 cultures, directly address the American experience.
Refreshments will be served in the children's department beginning at 1 p.m. A special drawing will be held for any child with a Niles Library Card--the winner will receive hardcover editions of the first six Harry Potter Books.
September is also Library Card Sign-Up Month, and Super Sunday is the perfect time to come to the library and see what is being offered at Niles Public Library. Special prizes will be given to any adult who uses their library card, or to any adult who signs up for a Niles Library card.
Super Sunday programs are funded by the Friends of the Library.
