Members of the Elk Grove Republican Organization met last month to choose candidates that would receive the organization's endorsement in the upcoming primary election next spring.

Precinct captains, committeemen and executive board members met behind closed doors on Wednesday, Nov. 16 to choose a slate of eight Republicans running for everything from Congress to the state legislature to judicial subcircuit judge after hearing candidates speak at an open forum earlier in the day.

Elk Grove Republicans have made a big mistake in the support of Smiolinski. They do not know her. She has sun Roselle to the edge of bankruptcy and could care less about representing the residents. She will not answer key questions about budget issues or how the taxpayers money is spent. She refuses to explain her own spending of taxpayers money. She really has no positive accomplishments in over 15 years in office. She is good at increasing village taxes and fees. We don't need her kind in Springfield.

Oh, good job! How do you fairly endorse in a race before you even know who all of the candidates are? Filing is'nt over yet, guys....

Also, the endorsement might be a good recommendation to local republican voters IF the session were conducted in a fair manner...as it is, Vanderweel is right, the endorsement is irrelevant to the local people.
