A few sore losers are already trying to poison the well. Marty Moylan won simply because of his strong fiscally conservative track record as Mayor of Des Plaines and for his passion of making the community family-friendly.

Voters in Des Plaines did not fall for the mean-spirited Sweeney campaign lies, because the residents know the truth. As mayor of Des Plaines, Moylan cut excessive spending, shrunk the size of government, balanced budgets and held the line on taxes. As a result of his efforts, taxpayers saved money, the City's debt was decreased, a surplus account was increased and the City's rating was upgraded -- all in a terrible economy and after he inherited the mantle of a the City in financial disarray.

Along with his cuts, Moylan increased efforts to build the community with efficiency, making the Taste of Des Plaines better managed and battling child obesity with family/community bike events.

Susan Sweeney has no history of doing anything to better the community. Maybe she has, but her campaign chose to not push her accomplishments out and focused on making up lies about Moylan. The voters know better and the right person won. His shoes will be tough to fill in Des Plaines, but the people of Illinois now have a hard working advocate to fight for them in Springfield.

I heard he's a crook too. He also picks on people in his own neighborhood for silly stuff. He loves his power. Sorry to see he won.[sad]

Gosh, I wonder if it will be January or February when he votes to make the 67% income tax increase permanent?
