A controversial group warning about the dangers of radical Islam in America has rankled local religious organizations---who want the Des Plaines Public Library to ban the group from meeting.

Des Plaines for ACT! formed last fall. The group is a local chapter of ACT! For America. ACT! bills itself as a grassroots organization dedicated to security and terrorism by speaking out against Islamic extremists.

    PA1974 posted some half-truths on May 28th.

Omitted are the facts about the founder of ACT! "For" America Gabriel Brigette and her claims to fame. She's an Islamaphobic bigot and her organization, top to bottom, consists of bigots.

What PA1974 #failed to mention is the fact that individuals who were/are Muslims were responsible for the quoted attacks, not Islam. He would have stated as much had they been Christians or Jews and called those individuals out as individuals without indicting their religions.

So even us law-abiding, hard-working, tax-paying, faithful, Muslim American citizens take issue with anyone or organization lying and blaming us and our religion for the wrongdoing of individuals on their political agendas.

    EXPOSE THAT, PA1974!!

ACT for America has been running meetings in the NW Suburbs for over 3 years without incident. ACT for America is an organization dedicated to educate the public about things which they need to know about, things which are rarely covered by the media.

For example, another local chapter of ACT has been educating the public about the problems of Common Core for quite some time now. The only complaints have been from teachers and school administrators whose income depends on Common Core being successful.

Since Sept 11, 2001, there have been over 10,000 acts of terrorism in the world and nearly all of them have been committed by Muslims males between 15 and 40 years of age. Obviously Radical Muslims don't like anyone or group who attempts to expose them to the public.

The first war the United States was involved with, where US Citizens and US Flagged ships were being attacked without provocation, the enemy which was attacking us were Muslims. This war ended in 1797.

The more Americans learn about Radical Islam, the more likely we will be to take the appropriate action to protect ourselves from them.

This is why I sat down and read the Quran for myself, this past year.

This is one of the best web sites I've found about Islam:

Geert Wilders, although not an American citizen or resident, is a known paid Islamaphobe. A "screening" of ANY of his Islamaphobic speeches is SURE to misinform anyone not already knowledgeable of the facts on Islam and Muslims.

Sara Schmidt is right about ACT! Well, she's half right....

ACT! IS about hate and it’s about the dissemination of misinformation that deceives people against Islam.

Anywhere such Islamaphobic hate groups have festered, different chapters of CAIR and other Islamic organization should (instead of merely protesting) have a follow-up events where they can ACTUALLY enlighted and ACTUALLY educate the public on what Islam is REALLY about. People aren't educated by protests.

“I understand and respect freedom of speech, but where do you stop?” he said.
Mahmood questioned whether it was appropriate for the library to allow the event when the facility is paid for through tax dollars".

Apparently Mahmood doesn't understand the first amendment. Congress didn't establish the Des Plaines library. They can do whatever they want. They didn't listen to the taxpayers who voted down its construction twice. Its board members except for two , refuse to stop spending those tax dollars on non library functions. If they have such deafness to tens of thousands of its citizens, what makes you think they will listen to a few Muslims?

This is why libraries should not be used as community centers.

Dear Mrs. Sara Schmidt, I'm not sure if you know this but, The City of Des Plaines does not recognize the First Amendment unless you stand in front of an abortion clinic and taunt women entering. Allahu Akbar!
