A rogue kite effectively flew itself into Chicago Executive Airport airspace last month temporarily shutting down two runways.

The incident occurred from 6:30 to 9:46 p.m. Saturday, June 22. Prospect Hts. police were called to the intersection of Palatine Road and Milwaukee Avenue after an air traffic control tower reported a kite flying in the airport’s operational airspace.
