More than 50 projects in the Chicago-area and collar counties will receive $286 million in federal funding in the next few years, including two projects in Des Plaines and one in Elk Grove Village.

The three identified projects in the Journal-area are related to the Illinois Tollway’s Elgin O’Hare West Access (EOWA) project that will link the Elgin O’Hare Expressway to both the city of Elgin and O’Hare Airport via Thorndale Avenue, in addition to linking I-90 in Des Plaines with I-294 in Franklin Park.
