Signs make a difference in identifying a business, establishing its location or services, or promoting a community. Deciding what signs are not appropriate can be an uphill battle---and electronic signs are not allowed in Park Ridge, yet.

In a project which started in 2012 with a sign task force and advanced through the planning and zoning commission, a series of revisions to the city zoning ordinances advanced to the city council for a first reading on Nov. 19, a discussion which will continue for at least one more meeting.
