Bringing The HEAT
The heat is on. Mt. Prospect police, out in full force last Thursday to kick-off the department's Hotspot Enforcement & Assistance Team (HEAT) program, with some help from Rosemont Police, arrested one individual and talked to others to help fight crime that may be occurring in certain parts of the village.

With Latest Traffic Changes Come Requests
Mt. Prospect trustees approved the neighborhood traffic study for three more areas within the village, but with a few changes from original recommendations.
Man Suspected Of Numerous Burglaries Caught
An Arlington Heights man was arrested on Wednesday, May 7 for his alleged involvement in a string of burglaries that have occurred throughout the area over the last seven months.

Tomorrow's (Thursday) hearing to revoke Ye Olde Town Inn restaurant and bar owner Tod Curtis' liquor license due to alleged village building code violations has been delayed, according to Village Manager Michael Janonis.

A Charlottesville, Va., man was arrested last week without incident by FBI special agents and the Mt. Prospect Police Dept. at 1978 W. Algonquin Rd. for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting an underage female in April.

Changes In Iraq Seen As Positive
Through a satellite connection, 37-year-old Major David Chipchase, a Mt. Prospect native, talked to the Journal about the success of current operations in Iraq, the soldiers of his brigade, and progress made by the Iraqi Army and police forces in his area.
Finances In Good Condition
The Village of Mt. Prospect remains in "good financial condition," according to Dave Erb, finance director.
Meeting To Bring Fire Station Closer
Within the next couple weeks, a meeting will be held between attorneys from the Village of Mt. Prospect, River Trails Park District and River Trails School Dist. 26 to attempt to finalize a contract allowing a new $8.5 million Fire Station 14 to be constructed on the village's northeast side.

YOTI To Re-Open?
Mt. Prospect's Ye Olde Town Inn restaurant may re-open for business as soon as Tuesday, May 6, after the establishment was ordered to close on Friday, Apr. 11 due to the village filing a temporary restraining order (TRO) in a Cook County Circuit Court.
